Loved the food especially the vegetarian meal. Kerala mutton curry , flavors were mild not up to my expectations.
Ambiance very good
I recently had the pleasure of visiting a charming Kerala cafe, and I must say it was an extraordinary culinary experience. From the moment I walked in, the ambience transported me to the serene backwaters of Kerala. The interior was tastefully decorated with vibrant colors and traditional art, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
The menu was a delightful exploration of Kerala's diverse flavors. I started with the classic "Appam" paired with a fragrant coconut stew. The appam was light, fluffy, and had a subtle hint of fermented goodness, a perfect complement to the creamy stew. The "Puttu" with spicy kadala curry was another highlight. The combination of the delicate rice cakes and the robust curry was a true treat for the taste buds.
Their seafood dishes were exceptional. The "Karimeen Pollichathu," a traditional Kerala fish preparation, was cooked to perfection, with the fish marinated in a blend of spices that burst with flavor. The "Meen Curry" was another winner, with a rich and tangy coconut-based gravy that paired wonderfully with steamed rice.
The service was attentive and knowledgeable, and the staff was enthusiastic about explaining the nuances of Kerala cuisine. The cafe's commitment to authenticity and quality is evident in every dish.
In summary, this Kerala cafe provided an unforgettable gastronomic journey through the flavors of this beautiful Indian state. If you're a fan of South Indian cuisine or looking to explore new tastes, this cafe should be on your list. It's a true gem for food enthusiasts and an excellent representation of Kerala's culinary heritage.
We tried multiple authentic Kerala non veg dishes the most favourite of mine was Prawns combo with Appam it's simpli mouth watering. 5 stars for it. We tried few juices aswell Pineapple Kulukki was one of my favourite.
Small place but fast service, they have maintained authenticity by serving food on Banana leaf. I am loving it. They have given special attention on hygienic aswell.
Good place, Good Food...
Nice & comfortable ambience.
Loved the authentic Kerala cuisine served on Banana leaf..
Kerala Cafe has been on my list since a long time.. Serves authentic mallu food, service is great.. Lovely ambience makes eating in a great experience.. Tried their prawns pollichathu, Buff Pothi choru set, Chicken pothi choru set and jaggery coconut custard. Everything was delicious. The place is moderately priced. PS - They serve insane quantity of rice in choru set. I was surprised when our server told us that people actually finish the whole meal 😜
Visited the place again after a couple of months with family. (Feb 2023)
Food is still delicious but the service this time was very very disappointing. Buff fry was served while we waited for parathas for 10 mins, they got appams but curries came after another 10 mins and the restaurant was even full. Will surely visit again for food hoping service is better then..
The service here was competent and attentive, and the veg thali was everything I'd hoped it would be. I would love to see branches of this restaurant in America.
So recently I visit Kerala cafe in vasai.. heard lot about this place since years. Honestly this place is to die for.. perfect place for Keralite food.. mr Patrick is a perfect host.. he explains you everything about every dish. Which is so good.. coming to food we order spinach soup, chicken kanthari soup, I really like both the soups, coming to the appetisers we ordered Kurkure bhindi which were very crispy. In non veg we tired surmai pollichathu which comes in banana leaf with perfect flavour of Malabar. Next we tired pothi chor veg which comes in banana leaf with rice, pickle some veggies and lot of flavours. Then we ordered ammachi kozhi curry with appam. Must try dish. Don’t forget to order fresh tender coconut ice cream with actually comes in tender coconut. Must must try dish. I’m definitely visiting this place again.
Kerala Cafe is a great place to spend quality time with family. It's quiet and peaceful ambience will make me go again. Food quality and service is great..👍👍👍
Such an amazing place with a beautiful ambiance. Must visit here if you want to have authentic Kerala Food. Must ask for their red hot water made out of a tree which grows in particular in Kerala, this water has medical benefits for the heart and blood pressure.
The food was great, especially the bronze coconut soup was exquisite.
A good restaurant is nothing without the service they offer and how they treat th3 guests. I'd say Manish and Ronny have mastered the art of warm service. They both took our requests very humbly and warmly.
Great experience. Will visit again when in Mumbai.
Thank you Kerela cafe.
