Its been a long time since I was planing to pen down the review of this restaurant. I happen to go there with other bloggers friends in the month of March, after that, ordered for home delivery also many a times. It is basically a Punjabi restaurant, Specially the Kulchas.
So here it goes
Ambiance:
The restaurant is located in a commercial complex named Sardar Complex, near to Vastrapur lake. the complex has some other popular food joints also, like Havmore, Jassi de Parathe. The iron Staircase will take you to this place, which is just above the Jassi de Parathe. Its a casual dining facility with hardly 4 tables. The interior is simple and is maintained well. They have these Spring attached lights over each table, which you can pull down and adjust the lighting. Their Kitchen is well equipped with Tandoor and all equipments necessary for a scrumptious Punjabi Meal. Their main focus is on delivery and takeaway
Service:
Service was overall satisfactory, however the only person serving is sometimes seemed little disoriented, when we are asking for Water or Someone else asked for Cutlery. cannot say if it was only for that day.
Food:
The food was the reason you should visit the place or order from them. Their kulchas are accompanied with a small bowl of Dal Makhani or Amritsari Choley (whatever is your choice), Green Chutney. We tried quite a few items, and they are,
Aloo Garlic Kulcha: The stuffing of this kulcha tasted better than the previous one, soft and perfectly cooked kulcha with delicious
The Kulcha pizzas are the favourites here, a must try. You may have tried variety of fusion foods, but this one is one of the best I have tried till date. They have come up with two options,
1. BBQ Paneer
2. Cheesy Capsicum
Both the pizzas are made using stuffed kulcha for base and then topped with the flavours, sauces and Cheese.
Though both the options were great, my personal favourite was the Cheesy Capsicum one.
Others:Apart from the above they also have Butter Rotis, Butter Parathas to go with their Main vegetables dishes like, Butter Paneer, Kadhai Paneer, Mix vegetables etc. Lassi was also one of the favourites topped with dry fruits.
Final Verdict: The restaurant deserves a thumbs up and a rating of 3.5/5 for its no fuss, simple Good quality food, Pricing . is also reasonble
A must visit place for all north Indian food lovers. Not much of a place when it comes to ambience and seating but it is quite comfortable. And whatever they lag in the furnishings, they more than make up for in the food that they sèrve.
They have the regular kulchas which are a delight but the USP are the kulcha pizzas. Now I know that s fusion food and not many people would be willing to help that in a go when they hear about that but trust me, if you are your scruples aside for a minute, you'll really love the idea. Stuffed kulchas that have pizza toppings on top! Loved them every bit! The dal makhani and the chhole were exquisite and its not even that heavy on the pocket! What more do we want? What a wonderful addition to the city's food scene.
only point if qty for 2 kulchas shd have enough gravy/chana...
good food, the kulchas were different than expected, but overall it was good.
Ambiance and feel
The facade is not very fancy or gaudy; it is simple yet classy and elegant. Even the interiors are quite bright and well lit. Despite being a small place, the tables are quiet fanned out and even the chairs are quite comfortable. The cutlery is also simple, nothing very fancy. One thing that I liked the best about the ambiance are the height adjustable lights over the table - you could easily pull the lights down and again send them up without an effort - and adjust the lighting to your liking.
The service
We were a group of 7 people and the servers were careful enough to attend everyone. It may have happened once or twice that they didn't pay regard to someone when they were trying to draw their attention or ask for something, say, water or cutlery - which was slightly disappointing, given the overall quality of service. The attendants were polite and courteous and were familiar with the menu and the dishes they were serving.
Finally, food!
Paneer garlic kulcha
The kulchas here are usually served with either dal makhani or Amritsari chhole. The paneer garlic kulcha tasted great, albeit a tad bit on the drier side. It was quite difficult to eat it after it cools down, because it kept on falling apart because of the dryness of the filling. Also, the paneer garlic filling could have been a less salty - I personally like food with salt on the lower end of the spectrum - so most people may find it completely normal.
Aloo garlic kulcha
The aloo garlic kulcha tasted a lot better than the paneer garlic kulcha owing to the fact that I like potato a lot more than paneer. To me, garlic tastes better with potato than with paneer. Moreover, I didn't think it was either salty or dry like the paneer garlic kulcha.
Bbq paneer kulcha pizza and cheesy capsicum kulcha pizza
Probably the most innovative dishes I've tried in Ahmedabad - and great ones at that. Most fusion food that I've tried in Ahmedabad turns out being not that great owing to several factors - but these pizzas were fabulous! Way better than the normal pizzas and kulchas available in most places in Ahmedabad. Both the pizzas were made using a stuffed kulcha for a base. The kulchas tasted awesome and so did the toppings - although I liked the cheesy capsicum pizza a lot more than the bbq paneer pizza. If, like us, even your heart doesn't stop at this much fusion, then try topping off the pizzas with dal makhani - it may sound weird, but it did taste delectable.
Paneer lababdaar
By the time I finished the portions kulchas and the pizza, I felt so fulfilled, that I wouldn't have eaten another morsel but the aroma emanating from the bowl of paneer lababdaar was damn tempting that I decided to try a bit anyway. And I wasn't disappointed at all. I'd say this is easily amongst the top places to have proper authentic (not exactly but quite close) Punjabi food in Ahmedabad.
Butter lachcha parathas
I loved even the laccha parathas - these were a proper laccha paratha - most other places just serve normal parathas in the name of lachcha paratha which is quite disappointing.
Sweet lassi
The lassi was also delicious - if you are a lassi fan, do give it a try - although, I'd have loved it all the more had it been a tad less sweeter.
Overall, I'd say it's a superb place to grab lunch or dinner with family or friends if you don't want to spend exorbitant sums of money and still eat great food.
Located Just above Jassi da Paratha, I love the taste of the food they prepare and serve here, Kulchas are always been my favorite dish here. We ordered Gobi Mutter Kulcha and Cheesy Paneer Kulcha. Loved the chhole. If you're one of the Punjabi food junkie, than you must visit this place once. Highly recommended to visit at least once.
They have tasty and great type of kulchas available over here and so I had tried out variety of kulchas with my friends. Me and my friends came to inorbit for shopping and then we had the kulchas and they were all awesome to taste.
The ambience is minimal but the food is good . Their kulcha pizza is a great fushion attempt. The Dal makhani is yummy but avoid the chole . Dahi is thick and creamy. Overall it's a decent place for good kulchas
Vegetable jaipuri and paneer Amritsari these two curries were tried out by me and with these had tried the mix paratha too and that too was awesome. The paratha was soft and tasty and the curries too were thick and great to taste.
There are variety of kulcha available over here and I had the Gobi matar kulcha and that was great to taste. The kulcha was stuffed well with Gobi and that was great to taste. There are many more kulcha to try out from here. The kulcha was soft and tasty.
After shopping for long, me and my mom were extremely tired and at the same time were hungry and so we had decided to have some tasty Indian food from here and so we had the rajma chawal combo and also had kulcha combo and these were great to taste.
Kulchas when stuffed with different ingredients taste really awesome and this I had experience from here while I had different stuffed kulcha and all these kulchas were great to taste and I had enjoyed alot having these kulchas from here.
From here, paneer kadhai combo is my favourite and so whenever I come to this mall, I have this combo only and in this the paneer kadhai curry was great to taste and with that had the jeera rice and that rice too was very tasty.
Cheese capsicum kulcha, this kulcha was great with a good taste of cheese and capsicum inside it and also with this amazing kulcha , had the aloo jeera kulcha and these were tasty too and worth to try out.
