Ten of us had dinner at this restaurant on a Saturday, surprisingly the place was not crowded - which suited us. We stuck to their signature dishes, they were all good - chicken cafreal rolls, prawn dangar and fodi for starters; and prawn udamethi, chicken xacuti and rawa fried chonak fish for mains. the cafreal rolls and xacuti were outstanding. For dessert we tried the caramel pudding which was pretty good. Service was reasonably fast., Santosh our server was friendly and knowledgeable. But the bar was a bit of a let down as some of the popular whiskies were out of stock.

Voltaire basically means an easy arm chair which is even today seen in some old heritage Goan houses. This restaurant also has some vintage ambience as is name suggests. It is located in the north, few meters from reis magos fort. The food is quite good. For the desserts, serradura here is a must try. On the first floor, one can get a good view of river mandovi.

This is a gem of a restaurant hidden away in a quaint little village called Verem and serves awesome Saraswat cuisine. Goan seafood is often portrayed as the Catholic cuisine to the uninitiated, but in reality, there are two different cuisines in Goa - the Hindu and the Catholic ones and my favourite by a huge margin is the Hindu cuisine. The ambience is unique as it is understated, set in a picturesque house with an old world charm. It is unfortunately not very accessible unless you have a vehicle at your command. Not an issue for the local, but could be challenging for the traveller

The food is beyond awesome, the portions huge. Can be a bit pricey, but it is most certainly money well spent. I had the fish curry (locally called hooman) with Chonak rawa fry (Giant perch), both flawlessly prepared and a most wonderful traditional preparation called 'sungtache dangar'. Closest I come to describing them in English is as prawn cutlets, but that quite falls short of the wonderful taste, flavor and texture. Another standout is the coconut based solkadi - coconutty, creamy and piquant in the same mouthful, this is one concoction that one can't stop downing one after the other, especially on a sultry afternoon - can be had as a drink, or more traditionally, with rice after a satisfying meal of fish curry and rice. Only been here twice and almost repeated all the dishes both times (chonak - due to a lack of a better alternative and the dangar, that just had to be repeated), had different fish curries both times though - the prawn based once and the mackerel based the other time. The mackerel curry is prepared using teppal - a close cousin of the schezwan pepper. You have to have this curry to understand how versatile this spice is. The huge delectable portions meant that we came out overfed each time, but with food this good... who cares?
This restaurant is the 2nd on my list of best seafood places in Goa. The first? Does not even list on Zomato! Poor Zomato

Set in a Old Goan house with a nice set up with a breathtaking view of the River Mandovi.
Great place for fish.
Wide choice for typical Goan dishes. We ordered rawa fried Chonak, Prawn curry and Rice. Prawn curry quantity was alot more than sufficient for 4 people. Chonak was nice and fresh. Papad came as complimentary. For dessert we had Alle Belle which we relished the most. Service was very fast probably because there were less occupied tables. Overall good place. Very reasonable.

Freindly place overlooking INS Mandovi boat pool. Having a beautilfull view of vastness of river Mandovi adds up to serenity. Old Goan look in the ambience gives it a rich feel. Staff is very welcoming, freindly and knows the dishes well. He even understands our taste and recommends are ask the chef to adjust the dush to our liking. Full marks therefamous for goan cuisine. But we had-
Chicken handi is yummilicius. Butter Chicken and chicken kadhai both good. Chapatis are homestyle and good.
The caramal is perfectly yummmmm!!! Been thete many times. Home delivered many times... Many more to come

Doling out authentic goan food, @voltairegoa should be on your must-eat-at list. It is on ours for sure. Do try their Seafood Thali that has the freshest catch of the day and is served with Solkadi and fish fry and more. And, vegetarians don't be disappointed, their veg dishes are equally yum. All the curries and dishes are dished out using authentic Konkani masalas and have old Goan charm written all over it. We had their 1) Fish thali @250: Sungtanchi Udhamethi, visonache posth, Tisryanche Dangar, cutlet, kismor, chitki mitki Bhaji, Xit, Sol kadi, Papad, Pickle, Salad, Tavsali. 2) Veg thali @180: Varan, Bhajin [banana fry], Chitki mitki bhaji, Sol kadi, Salad, Papad, Pickle, Xit, Tavsali. The food here is so fingerlicking good that you will remember the taste for years to come.

This Authentic Goan Restaurant facing the Mandovi river, is an epitome of Goan facade, it's feel, culture and cuisine all packed into a concoction that leaves you spellbound. Sangam, the proprietor is a wonderful host with a warm and pleasant personality. He made us feel at home, personally took care of our seating, helped us place our orders and even designed a unique cocktail (Chanchal chedu) especially for us, which was truly amazing. Must try! The thali was a deal breaker, absolutely packed with authentic Goan flavors, served to us exactly the way our grandparents did, on a banana leaf. Brought back some fond memories. The items complimented each other and were cooked to perfection. By the time we were done, it was difficult to stand with our tummies filled so we sat there to absorb some more of the vibrant aura that the place emits. A truly 5 star experience. Highly recommended for an Authentic Goan experience.

To start with the place looks beautiful with breathtaking view. One feels nice just sitting and spending time here. Helpful staff, the food is good and is served neatly on time. But the most impressive is the cost, it serves fine done food and an extremely reasonable price. A sure shot hit. One must spend an afternoon here. Highly recommended.

Lovely place by the riverside in verem. Parking is an issue but once U get inside, the light toned down ambience gives U a feel of being in the old Goan days. The Goan cuisine is to go after. Specially the daangars and fish fried as well as curry with rice. The Cafreal is also awesome. They have a balcony sitting where one can have a nice family dinner with the breeze blowing. Again the upper floor allows one to entertain as well as have a business meal without interruptions. The place is bustling on weekend evenings but the spacing between tables allows good privacy. Totally value for money and a definite repeat visit.

Awesome place for lunch and dinner in Reis Magos. Old Portuguese house converted into a Restaurant. Goan cuisine. During my last visited we ordered Prawns Dhangar, Stuffed Mackerels, Chicken in bird nest ( I think that's what they call it ), Chicken Cafreal with Goan bread and Prawn Curry with Rice accompanied by Fried Fish and Kokum mocktails to quench the thirst. We were 3 of us and were so full we didn't order dessert this time. Loved the ambience, reasonable price, excellent service and friendly host.

A nice old Portuguese ear villa converted into a restaurant. The first floor offers a June view of the mandovi. Good food to go with the ambience. Live music would have been great.
