A childhood favourite. A place with fond memories. This restaurant has big menu with lots of variety. Be it mutton cutlets, omelettes, bread jam, masala dosa, idli- vada everything is delicious and upto the mark. Coffee is to die for ! It’s unmissable. Cold coffees are light and tasty. And hot coffee is excellent. A must have along with your meal. The place is amazingly pocket friendly and great for a quick lunch or evening snacks

They have best south indian food ...i am in love with their dosa and their coffee as well . They have very low prices for food items so even students can visit this place as they have good quantity also.
Nice place and pocket friendly. South indian food is really amazing. Must try their cold coffee and cheese sandwich.
If you are south Indian cuisine lover and specially for Dosa then this is the place where you will get authentic south Indian menu at pocket friendly rates
Coffee house is a Rahul we place to visit when in Chandigarh. It has this old world charm that makes it a pleasant experience to visit. The food is good. The South Indian food is quite homely. The onion tomato uttapam is worth ordering. The cold coffee is also good. In cool weather a steaming place of idli dipped in sambar is comforting. The tomato sauce they offer is chargeable and order it only if needed. It’s made with some spices in it and tastes different from tomato ketchup that’s commercially available.
A Budget friendly and fast service almost packed Everytime place. Authentic south Indian taste. One can easily drop by for breakfast in here. Must try. Tried their french fries, vada, idly and coffee. (4.5/5). However one can avoid their french fries.
This place sure brings back memories , Nostalgic . The food is total value for money. Usually full of people . Only thing it lacks on is air conditioning and soft drinks
Being a Chandigarh born and brought guy, its gives me a goosebump when it comes to South Indian food at 'Indian coffee house'. I have now.moved out from the city, but the taste which this fines restaurant has to offer is no where to be found. One of the Oldest in the city, this great restraunt has established itself so firmly that it still doesn't need any review. In spite of that, till date the masala dosa and sambhar vada of coffee house is my absolute favorite. You'll get the finest coffee here.
Value for money of you want to try south Indian cuisine. Indian Coffee House sector 17.
This place is always overcrowded with people waiting for others to leave the table and get settled down.
Coming to good:
Their Hot Chocolate is a must try.
Uttapam and Dosas are good too but sambar can be improved.
Overall this a good place to visit if you are around Sector 17 and craving some good South Indian Food which is not heavy on pocket.
This place is great! Atmosphere is chill and cool but the staff is also really friendly. They know what they’re doing and what they’re talking about, and you can tell by how much busy it remains anytime you go in, it’s hard to find a table. Food is pretty good, some classics and some twists, and for their prices it’s 100% worth it.
Lovely experience here with great tasty food. We had Masala Dosa and Egg Noodles with 2x Cold coffee - all of which were too good! Egg noodles took longer to serve but was definitely worth it. Service was friendly, no wonder they have lasted all these years. Only scored 4 for atmosphere as it was getting too humid inside with more people coming in, no fan was turned on that provided better ventilation.
I love their hot dog which is full of hot great stuff. This time it had been too crispy and hard but I usually love to eat here. Had a Dosa sambhar too which was good in taste. They have given the simple old classic infrastructure inside. But still it's almost full every time I enter there. You usually won't get a seat at lunch hours and it becomes very compact between every seat.
Good place ..it's very old place..nd taste is also good ..price is reasonable..must try veg uttpam
I recently visited your coffee house and felt compelled to share some feedback regarding the ambiance. Unfortunately, I observed that the ambiance falls short of the cozy and inviting atmosphere one typically associates with a coffee house.
The lighting seemed dim, and the decor appeared outdated, contributing to a somewhat gloomy environment. Additionally, the seating arrangement lacked comfort, making it less conducive to a relaxing coffee experience. I believe enhancing these aspects could significantly improve the overall appeal of your establishment.
Food is good, staff is quick, prices are great.
The menu is really budget friendly. And they have really interesting items not so much variety but the menu is simply amazing.
Also the sitting area will make you feel nostalgic.
Must visit place!
The blend of history and some good food is the defining factor of this place.
The main highlight of this place is the vibe and the charm. The moment you enter this restaurant, you will start feeling that you are in a old movie of 60s-70s.
It’s commendable that during this modern times, they somehow managed to sustain the historical touch.
Now the food, it is tasty, especially the South Indian food. Other items were quite average, but I definitely recommend you to try their Dosa, it’s exemplary.
Overall, every place has its own uniqueness, and this place is no expectation. The charm of this place cannot be imitated by anyone.
Step into legendary eating House established in 1964.... its pure emotion... ideal for sipping aromatic coffee...n watching world go by...Vada dipped in creamy sambhar...every table full of people engaged in their animated talks.... long live this timelessness in a fast changing world.
Food- 3/5
Ambience - 4/5
Service - 3/5
The whole experience was very decent. Food wasn't that tasty tbh it was fine. They have suggested we try the cold coffee damn that was really pathetic. I'm not a coffee lover but i can easily tell that it was just water with coffee
