After a long time, Chennai gets a great Kerala Restaurant. Neat and clean, great ambience and good choices on the menu.
The Kerala fish curry meal was superb and the mutton cutlets were soft on the inside and just the right amount of crisp outside.
If you Kerala cuisine, especially from the Malabar belt, this is the place to go to.
Good place to hang out and taste Kerala food. little bit pricey but ambience is good and they had the best music (Melody).
As we sat, they gave traditional 'Pathimukham' water to drink and raw mango and cucumber soaked in chilli vinegar(🤤) We ordered appam, idiyappam, beef ulathiyathu, chicken stew, pathiri and karimeen pollichatu.. beef ulathiyathu and appam was heavenly. Im not a huge fan of beef, but just loved this one. Was extremely delicious. Appam & idiyapapm was also good. Karimeen pollichatu came wrapped in a banana leaf but not cooked in one. Ideally it should be wrapped in the leaf and then cooked. The taste was just fine, but nothing great. Coming to chicken stew, it was disappointing. Instead of coconut milk, it was cooked in grated coconut and had three huge pieces of chicken instead of small ones - stew didn't taste nice at all.

I visited Ikkakas and found the experience quite delightful. Had Unnakaya, Pothu Roast, Fish Cutlet, Mutton Samosa, Fish Biriyani, Chapathis, Veg Stew, Raw Mango Kulukki Sarbath, Tresleches and Tender Coconut pudding. All dishes were good and the service too was nice.
Special mention has to be made of the Tender Coconut pudding. It is simply out of the world.
