After pandemic, My first visit is here only. We had Full Kari virunthu, All the starters are so good and seeraga samba biriyani was well cooked. Rice and 4 gravies is given, Never expected this good. Got 20 percentage off by Zomato pro.
We visited this place for late lunch as a group of 5. The table booking process was hassle free through Zomato. The place is easy to locate and has ample parking space as well.
Meals was over by the time we went. So we had biryani and parotta. We found the food to be flavorful and nice. However, the serving size was less. It would have been better if the quantity served is improved as well.
Overall a great dining experience. Definitely a place I'd visit again.

Happened to visit Kumbakkarai Restaurant today evening with 4 of us . First time stepped into this Restaurant, the ambience was good and quiet spacoius.
Coming to food, we ordered Vazhai Ilai Biriyani, Vazhai Ilai Fish and Prawn, wow it was really amazing. They made it with seeraga samba rice and wrapped with Vazhai Ilai and heated again in barbecue. Once unwrapped, the flavor of banana leaf and their hot biriyani made us floating on the heaven. And fish and prawn too was top notch. We strongly recommend this restaurant. Feel to visit again very soon. Thanks folks...
Ambience:
This place will have its own fans for its ambience. Each and every table has its privacy. Interior lighting is a bit dark.
Food:
I tried vazhayilai chicken for the first time here. It was one of the best chicken I have ever tasted. Mutton chukka, Biryani and vanjaram fry tasted too good but was not having the quantity for the amount you pay is the only negative thing I would say.
Service:
The service was a bit slow yet it was served with kindness and love. That makes it the best!
This is a pre booked restaurant and also has a good parking facility.
Must try malai kulfi ..
Tried kothu idli for the first time... It was too spicy but was good...
Ambience was fine...
Ordered gobi 65 and omlet, price was very reasonable,this two items cost 70 rupees, which is really worth to try, packaging was good, swiggy delivered the food within 15 minutes.

Kumbakkarai - What I shall say about this beautiful place
A classic restaurant which is located centrally amidst central location serving some great delicacies .
Ambiance -4/5
Impressive decor the entire place is setup as a old bungalow with mud lamps and rustic decor that reflects nativity.
Seating options are quite comfortable too.
Loved the entrance of this place - its like our home with those simple lamps lit and welcoming decor.
Service - 5/5
Would put forth this parameter as the staff here deserve a huge round of applauseĀ
They are accommodating and do their best.
They provide valuable suggestions too and are dutiful, they make sure they go that extra mile to make sure a customer returns home contended. right from security who welcomes with warm smile to stewards every one here are amazing.

Ā I tried a chicken starter along with chettinad Chicken biryani
The chicken starter is rustic humble spices blended and cooked well along with tampering of curry leaves give it a special touch
And the chettiand chicken biryani is simply amazing loved the taste, accompanied by dalcha, sharwa and curd raitha.
Dalcha was just perfect .Ā
In Biryani the pieces were slightly under cooked but taste per say it is great with the jeera samba rice enhancing the taste
