Lunch at this restaurant was very good. The hospitality and the cleanliness was top notch. The view from the restaurant was excellent. Here’s the main part :
1. Luchi Aloo Dum - the name itself gives a smile on every bengali’s face. As the name says, the luchi and aloo dum along with the pickles and chopped onions made me lick my fingers at the end. But at this price point, I had a bit high expectation.
2. Schezwan Chicken Fried Rice - Hats off to all the hard work team SB. But the taste wasn’t up to the mark in comparison to the price range. It needs much improvement to satisfy the taste buds.
Christmas was well spent with the wonderful chilling weather, the ambience, decorum and the hospitality. Thank you Team SB & will you all Merry Christmas 🎄
While in a trip to batasia loop in Darjeeling, we went to this food junction called santa banta dhaba.
Ordered bengali thali, masala dosa, veg momos. All the dishes were fresh prepared and upto the mark considering taste and price.
Hygiene wise also good and quite descent place to eat, specially when u have kids with you. Menu wise also quite elaborate menu they have. Bengali, South, North Indian, Chinese etc.
Overall liked the place
It is one of the best restaurants, Darjeeling near Batashia loop. I finished a full plate biriyani and tried many side dishes. I loved every single bite.
The place was quite crowdy and the service was very bad. There is a kind owner who works so hard to compensate for the incompetent service. Apart from that, i would love to eat their food again.
A very nice little restaurant to visit if you are with your family or by yourself.
The aesthetic setting of the place by the side of the hills and a peeking Kanchenjunga will make your time even more serene. The food is awesome with both veg and non-veg delicacies. The staff are very polite and carry themselves with propriety. The only objection to perfection is the Washroom. I would fervently advise the administration to rectify the lavatory facilities. It is imperative to underscore that a well-maintained and refined restroom is indispensable for the overall allure and aesthetic charm of a dining establishment such as Yours.
Best Regards.
Location of this restaurant is beautiful
There food are great service is beautiful and very friendly I Love my experience
I had the pleasure of trying the chole bhature at this restaurant, and it was delightful. My only suggestion would be to increase the amount of chole served to make it even more satisfying, although you can ask for more "choles". The staff, particularly Awaz, provided impeccable service, ensuring a welcoming and attentive atmosphere. The rustic decor adds to the cozy ambiance
Good place for dinner. Authentic punjabi food and great service. Thank you Nishant for good hospitality.
The staff is very humble and friendly. Awaz served us the food and made sure the service was quick. The window side tables have quite a view and if lucky, one can also see the toy train pass from their seats.
The washrooms could be maintained well.
The food here is delicious and of best quality. We ordered Paneer pakoda, Momos and Mixed lime soda. All of them were great.
The only drawback is their slow service. You will have to wait a l9ng time even for small orders.
The views are mesmerising provided that you get the seat near the windows.
The food here is awesome both in terms of quality and taste. Service offered by the staff is warm and specially Nishant was so heartwarming. I look forward to visit them again .
Absolutely loved the food and the ambience of the restaurant..must visit with family
Santa Banta Dhaba in Darjeeling is a hidden gem that left us pleasantly surprised. Tucked away from the bustling main streets, this charming dhaba offers an authentic taste of North Indian cuisine that won't disappoint.
The ambiance is rustic and inviting, with simple wooden tables and benches adding to the traditional feel. The friendly staff, donning colorful turbans, made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. Their hospitality and eagerness to recommend dishes from their menu were commendable.
Now, let's talk about the food – it was absolutely divine! The aroma of freshly baked tandoori bread wafted through the air, making our mouths water in anticipation. The buttery naans and flaky parathas perfectly complemented the flavorful curries and gravies.
The highlight of our meal was the signature chicken curry, bursting with aromatic spices and tender chunks of chicken. The vegetarian options were equally delightful, with the dal makhani and paneer dishes being standouts.
To round off the meal, we savored some delectable desserts like the creamy kulfi and the comforting rice kheer. Each bite was a sweet indulgence, leaving us completely satisfied.
Santa Banta Dhaba's reasonable prices and generous portions make it an excellent value for money. Whether you're a local or a traveler passing through Darjeeling, this dhaba is a must-visit for a true taste of North Indian flavors and warm hospitality. We can't wait to return!
