A small outlet near the hanuman mandir and railway gate crossing in fancy bazar.. most of the sweets are good.. excpt the malai ghewar which the exquisite and the best.. must try!
Rates are same like every other good sweet shop and staffs are attentive and soft spoken!!

The best sweet available in India. The quality of sweet and the taste is nothing compared to sweets available across the country. The kalakand & chakki is nothing compared to anywhere in India

The location is bad, near the railway line, but the quality of sweets is good nonetheless... A very old and famous sweet joint of this part of Guwahati....

For sweets we've always had one name on our mind, Bhartiya Jalpan. With quality stuff and prompt service the only negative point here is that they could have a seating arrangement for people who wanted to eat the sweet and savory items then and there. The staff is helpful and friendly. My aunt's who no longer live here still want to eat Gulabjamuns and Khandvi from here :) That says it all about them!

One of the oldest of all. Always known for the best serves sweets corner in Guwahati. My experience everytime is satisfactory thought the quantity got less. But the quality got better. Goodluck

Bhartiya Jalpan is one of the earliest confectioneries in the city. People from far and wide know about this place and have only good things to say about it. Do visit if you've never experienced their sweets.

Paradise for people who have sweet tooth, Bhartiya Japlan has attracted customers since 60 years. Famous for dilkushaal (Mithai that melts in the mouth with every bite), is seen in almost every household and for some it's become family tradition. One must also try the Ras Malai and Rasgulla.
The quality of the mithai (since no colour is mixed) will make one go crazy.

The Dhokla's and khandwi from Bhartiya Jalpan are very delighting from the Gujarati Cuisine. The sweets from this shop is also very delicious.

By far the best place for sweets in Guwahati. Their specialities are Dilkhushal and Kalakand. Rasmalai and Gulab Jamun are worth trying as well. They maintain high standards in quality of ingredients. The staff is friendly and I have been seeing the same faces for over a decade now. Place gets really busy during festivals.

One of the oldest and most famous sweet shop in Guwahati. The variety and quality of the sweets is really good. They are known for their taste which makes you come back again. It remains really crowded specially during festivals and thats the only thing that they should improve i.e. renovate and make the shop more spacious and well staffed.

Bharatiya Jalpan is one of the best places to get traditional Indian sweets and snacks. They sell the best kaju barfis and laddoos. Every time I buy from them, I do not have to think twice about the freshness and quality. Hope they can maintain their quality and consistency.

In case if you are near Guwahati junction, this is a good option either to carry your food packet for breakfast or evening snacks from, for your further journey. Or pack sweets & snacks on the way to your home from. Good quality. Good taste. Affordable rate. Definitely unhealthy but since you want to savour taste over health so recommended option.

One of oldest sweet shop in the city I know. I have been there many a times the sweets and snacks are great in taste. Price is high compared to other sweet shop but I believe they provide the quality too.
