Shiva's No. 1 Punjabi Dhaba & Teahouse

Last December, I had a chance to visit Punjabi Dhaba, a famous restaurant that serves authentic Punjabi cuisine. The food was delicious and mouth-watering, but also quite expensive. The restaurant was very crowded, as many taxi and rickshaw drivers brought tourists there and demanded their commission from the hotel owners. The hotel owners, in turn, increased the rates of the food to make up for their loss. Despite the high price and the long wait, I enjoyed the food very much. I ordered a thali, which is a platter of various dishes, such as dal, sabzi, roti, rice, and salad. The thali was very filling and satisfying, and it had a nice balance of flavours and textures. The paneer, which is a type of cottage cheese, was soft and creamy, and it went well with spicy gravy. The lassi, which is a yogurt-based drink, was sweet and refreshing, and it helped to cool down the heat from the food. The chach, which is a buttermilk-based drink, was sour and tangy, and it aided in digestion. The restaurant had a typical dhaba style, which is a roadside eatery that offers simple and hearty food. The ambience was lively and colourful, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The restaurant also had a display of various sweets, such as jalebi, gulab jamun, and barfi, which looked tempting and inviting. I would recommend Punjabi Dhaba to anyone who loves spicy and flavorful food and who doesn’t mind paying a bit extra for the quality and quantity. It is one of the best places to experience the rich and diverse culture of Punjab, and it is worth a visit. I would definitely go back there again.

First - service is fast and swift Food quality is good and fresh and quick as well Both rice and roti was served within 5 minutes Lassi is something you should try that will really remind you of original lassi of Punjab We ordered rice roti dal makhani Ali-jira and paneer. We liked all the items. Paneer Manchurian was good - recommended for trying out if you like some spice food Overall: 4.5 (in roadside dhaba category)

I found this place as one of the best food joint for the Vegetarian. Being in Kerala, if you are craving for propar north Indian food, this is the place you must visite. I was in Kovalam for 3 nights and I had all my 6 meals at Punjabi Dhaba. Talks about the food , the teast and quality is very good. Service is supar fast, even if the restaurant is jam-pack. The highlight is the hospitality by Mr.Vijay the owner. We had really nice experience here.
