It is said that Lucknow is a food lover's paradise, especially if you are a non vegetarian. Well, I wanted to see whether there is anything for us vegetarians.
It was the 2nd day of my 4 day trip and had finished work and was trying to find a place to eat. I was ravenous as it was already 4 and I had not eaten. My eyes fell on this shop and I instantly hopped.
Look wise it is a big disappointment. The tables are arranged in a way that's not comfortable to sit. Anyways I ordered a Chat Basket, sev puri and Lassi Jumbo.
The Chat Basket was pure heaven. It was one of the best I have eaten till now. Had alloo tikki, dahi balla and dahi puri inside the basket and it was perfect. The tangy chutney and sweet dahi is a perfect combination and it was done with perfection here. 5/5 for Basket Chaat.
Sev Puri on the other hand was a little disappointment. It was a sandwich of puris with aloo filling. Was difficult to eat and also the filling was less. Overall not up to the mark.
Jumbo Lassi had a good taste but the glass hardly seemed jumbo. Anyways the taste made up for it. Nothing special here but good.
Overall a nice place to visit as it had many other yummy options on the menu. But would go there again for the Basket Chaat.
One of very few restaurants in city serving pure veg food without onion and garlic.In Breakfast they have delicious kachoris in desi ghee served with choice of vegetables.There chaat with chola is to be tried.There besan kadoos are the best.There crisp jalebis made in pure desi ghee are something not to be missed.
