Very tasty food at affordable prices.
Neat and clean environment within restaurant.
I just loved the food there. It's a pure veg restaurant. Near MG road, Mangalore
Had breakfast in this place. The taste of the food was mind blowing. Best place to have a good south indian breakfast. The hotel is very neat and clean, even the service is fast.
Good restaurant for authentic south Indian Breakfast and all varieties of South Food.
Poori and Idly was good.
Highly crowded place, normal waiting period will be 10-15mins during peak hours.
Amazing breakfast range with authentic local taste.
Wada rasam dip is a famous item from the menu.
However, I like their Mysore Masala dosa,
Vada and Chutney, Idli Sambar and Buns Sambar.
A cult place to have local delicacies in mangalore and you will realise it as soon as you reach near the place itself; the parking shows you the shear fan following this Resturant has .
Food : plenty of option in South Indian , North Indian and even evening Mangalorean veg snacks and sweets .
We tried
Pattar vade, neer dosa ( red chutney was great ) , masala dosa (25 mins to service on a busy day ) , shavige soup ( can be skipped) , poori , set dosa with Alu baji, paneer paratha ( Ok Ok, it was tandoori) ,
Cofee ,
Service : Super fast in spite of the high footfall and occupancy
Ambience : if you want to get the buzz of an amazing local Resturant try the non-AC space, you have time to kill and need AC then wait for 30 mins to get yourself a table.
Pricing : not too expensive for the food & services
A good place to have nice authentic south Indian dishes. Parking may be a problem during weekends as the place gets crowded. But the wait will be worth for the good vegetarian food
17.11.2023: We visited the Hotel Janatha Deluxe restaurant on two successive days. Yesterday we sat in the non air-conditioned hall and had Masala dosas and set dosa. The Masala dosa were big and crisp and accompanied with coconut chutney and Sambhar. We also had coffee to finish the meal. Everything was excellent. We also had a small kitten to keep us company. Loved it.
Today we were in the area again and feeling peckish decided to drop into Janatha Deluxe again. This time we sat in the air conditioned section. We ordered a variety of dishes including Mysore Masala Dosas, Masala Dosa, Masala Chat, Pineapple and Watermelon Juice & coffee. The food was again excellent. Service was a bit slow on the juices.
All tables are also served with warm drinking water infused with jeera which is pleasant to drink in between bites.
The prices are also very reasonable. While on the first day we paid about Rs. 208 for a meal for 2 people, on the second day it came upto Rs.570 for 4 people.
There is also enough parking space for 2 and 4 wheelers around the restaurant.
The south Indian meal was very tasty. It is quite popular and was crowded but was able to get seats in the AC section.
Unlimited meals for 140 is quite unbeatable.
We went here only for the food which was fantastic. Staff is great. Restaurant is pure vegetarian. There is both ac and non ac section. All traditional Mangalore items are available. We went during Diwali time and enjoyed the Badam halwa. Yum.
Amazing Manglorean food at a very reasonable price! The service is fast and the staff is helpful. Offers lots of variety. Manglorean bun, south Indian thali, ghee roast dosa, vada sambar, semige were some of the best ones.
