One of the most recommended places for breakfast in Mangalore. Really surprised to see such low ratings here on Zomato. Trust me guys, the place is worth visiting. Do try their three layered tea or Kalladka Tea along with Mangalore Buns, Goli Bajje and Kashi Halwa. Pricing is reasonable and staff is courteous. Seeing us taking pictures, the person at the counter started interacting and even let us inside the kitchen to witness the process of making the KT. Nice gesture on his part. Do visit this place when in Mangalore.
A decent hotel I visit every time I come to Mangalore to have the special tea. All the veg regulars in the Mangalorean cuisine available here.

We landed up here for breakfast on new year’s eve around 9 AM. And guess what it is fully occupied. Luckily we get a place to seat at this very simple looking age old standalone restaurant. Very unrefined kind of looking place. But mind you looks can be deceptive !
We ordered Sada Dosa & Masala Dosa ... which were crisp & super yummy. So was the Sada Masala Dosa.
We could not get idli ... because guess what ... at 9 AM it was already out of stock!
Then we ordered the famous Goli Bhaji, Fried Bun & Ripe Banana Bhaji! Never ever eaten any of these food items ever! I just kept wanting it more & more ... and did order a second serving of all 3!
One of us ordered super hot & fresh puri Bhaji! Which of course cannot go wrong & was yummy!
And then we ordered the very famous 3 layered coffee ... which apart from being a visual treat was super kicking! The kind of kick you expect a filter coffee to give ... but in a different way. And for the unadventurous ones there is regular filter coffee.
Again don’t go by the ratings given to this place. It is simple food with great flavour ... and that is what you want.
Their special layered tea is to die for. They have a variety of dosas and other snacks like Puri bhaaji, PAC baaji, idli, wada, goli baje. Good place for a quick breakfast or snack.
After a long gap, I got refreshed my sweet tongue bud's with the tasty Vegetarian food. The day for meal they served fruit mango curry, yummy it was.
Breakfast items like Dosa Varieties, Poori, Idly are all good.
Meals with Kheer is fantabulous at the best rate.
This is one of my favourite spot for a evening snack! They are famous for Bannana Podi (Pakoda), which is excellent and you have to try! Well i have to mention Pav bhaji & Golibaje which are also amazing. They serve the special KT (tea) which is good and also my personal favourite Lassi, it's different and a must try!

Tried their much recommended ghee roast dosa and it was fantastic. Very neatly flavored ghee and crispy, buttery ghee roast. Loved it.
Not much to review since I have only tried the special tea. The tea is a must try. Not that it is tasty, but special with milk and tea not sharing borders. (Not a tea man anyway)
Might as well go try some food too!
Good place for short bites (local bites) I love banana podi , ghee dosa , masala dosa and the main thing Karthik special coffee . ambiance was OK . old type restaurant , the food was soo tasty that I forgot to take pictures lol
We went here for snacks and welcomed with a big sitting area similar to Mangalore udupi darshinis.
The place provides good banana phodi, goli babe and pav bhajis although the main attraction here is their Kaladka tea and rimjim coffee. They form two layers of milk and dicoction which is a must try.
Service is good although its bit pricey.

Simple and decently priced south kanara style snacks and breakfast. Following items are great to order. Have been visiting this place since my childhood and the food quality still remains almost the same

It's a old and famous shop in that area. It's a very famous for its food taste. Food is nice. Only u will get tiffin on morning and evening. No lunch and dinner available.
Room are small but clean. Different room option available including AC rooms. Costing in budget.
Nice place to have local tulunadu breakfast items..They serve thier way of Lakshmi nivas Kalladka Tea and their karthik tea..nicely done and you will not be disappointed..overall nice place in Mangalore for breakfast and evening snacks
One of the best dosa spots in Mangalore. Ofcourse this is not to be compared to the Bangalore dosas. My favourite was the thuppa dosa and the katti chutney. The belle masala dosa was also good, so was the special coffee. Cleanliness was average. It's an old hotel and can't expect much of an ambience. However they have a special section reserved for family and ladies
Tried their Tuppa Dosa and K Tea latte here. The ghee dosa felt heavy and finishing 1 dosa was itself enough. The K-Tea latte was different, in a good way. The restaurant has limited Non-AC seating. Staffs were friendly. Overall a decent experience.
Wanted to try their butter masala dosa as I had heard a lot about it.. It didn't disappoint me.. Tasted yum. Tried uddina vada didn't cook in the middle. Idli was good though.
Tried the famous "K-tea" which was very average. Would suggest trying it from the actual place which is in Kalladka. Also ordered the Masala dosa which was nice. If you don't want the K-tea, you can also order for the normal tea. The seating area is big. The restraunt is attached to a hotel above it. The service was very quick and the staff were very friendly

Kalladka Tea, which is very famous in the Kalladka junction on NH 48 where one should not miss the tea has been replicated all along the southern coast of Karnataka. When in Mangalore and you need to taste this tea, Hotel Karthik is the best place as I have heard.
Hotel Karthik is also famous for their Benne Masala Dosè, the Bangalorean in me found it just average. Whereas mind-blown for the Kalladka Tea or K Tea. K Tea is done by playing with the viscosity of Tea decoction, thick milk and froth. Thick milk is added in the bottom, then froth is made freshly by pouring the milk up and down, this is added abundantly, the froth here is very thin. Tea decoction is poured in slowly where it does not go deep into the base of the milk, it stays where the milk starts. The decoction is now sandwiched between froth and milk, this wobbly action is such a treat to watch and what a rare delicacy this is.
One has to mix and drink this K Tea..
Breakfast Pulao and KT is tasty. Service is quick. Parking is limited. Pocket friendly hotel.
By far the best place for Breakfast in Mangalore. Try their Dosa, Vada and Mangalore Buns. I Would say any of the Breakfast option and it won't disappoint you.
Simple and old property with their only focus on quality food. Keep up the good work.
