Eyeing on this place since a long time when I shifted to Powai. Had to wait in the queue almost everytime because the place was so busy the whole time. Finally got a chance to visit on 9th December 2019, the food is simply incredible. I came to know they recently shut the services permanently. I wish they come back and provide with the same tasty food and quality service.

Finally I managed to visit the much talked about place Mirchi & Mime. And the experience makes it absolutely worth it.
We weren't sure what the word 'mime' stood for till the time we were told that all the servers here are hearing and speech impaired.
The way their hospitality works is something really special. With such smiling gestures they show you how to order and take your order with sign language.
.
.
It's an amazing concept which has enabled people with disabilities to work successfully in the food industry.
So coming to the food, we ordered their chicken lolipops.
These weren't like the normal chicken lolipops we have.
.
.
If you are a spice lover, be ready to experience the World's Hottest Chilli pepper here. Bhut Jhokolia - Gost peppers - has 400 times more heat than the Tabasco sauce. 🌶🌶
Another remarkable thing about the dish - Lolipops are NOT FRIED! Yeah, these steamed lolipops are coated well with sauce made from tangy tomatoes and ghost pepper and then coated with papad crumbs to give it a crunch when you bite in.

I would rate this a 4.5/5 😊❤️

My all time favorite... Can go anytime of the day, week, month and year. No special occasions needed, no excuses. Known for its special cause of employing super talented people, albeit with speech and hearing problems (sorry for using that word, I. Don't see it as a problem at all!). The staff is super courteous, and watching them do their thing makes me so so happy each time I go there. Kudos to the 2 lads who've conceptualized this!
Now coming to the food.: curated dishes with a modern spin. Sorted in a 2X2 array to make It easier to communicate with the servers, each category has a limited number of cracking dishes. You can try the duck seekh (which I haven't found anywhere else in the country), the mutton shorba with the so so delicious nan topping and the malai pepper kabab. The spicy orange mocktail is an absolute hit and it will leave you craving for more.
For the mains, and wait for it, I may sound a tad bit boring, but I've only and only gone for the raw mango prawn curry with jhaituni rice. Nothing else, period. I've once ordered for 3 portions, and still craved for more. Raw mango prawn curry is a common dish found in many keralite and manglorean joints, but the one at MnM is the Phoenix, it's god level. Nothing comes close!
Desserts are also good, the portions are gargantuan, especially the Eaton Mess. I've generally not gone much to the desserts section, and hence cannot dive too deep.
My strong recommendation : there are very few joints in the city you fall in love with, this is one of them. I'm sure many of you come across situations where you keep thinking where to go and get confused in the end. Well, for those moments, there's Mirchi n Mime!

This place had been on my wishlist for a very long time. Finally got a chance to visit for a get together with friends. We tried sweet potato chat (highly recommended), mushroom kebabs & a combo of Indian style tacos. Veg menu does not have many options but whatever is available is unique and super tasty. Although the staff cannot speak, they are trained well to deliver the best service. They also give you a sign card to take along.

Mirchi & Mine boasts a unique and admirable concept with a good ambiance. The wait staff, who are hearing and speech-impaired, provide exceptional service using sign language. The menu includes clear instructions on how to communicate your order, and the staff is well-trained to assist in every way possible. We tried tandoori potato and paneer tacos, and these dishes were delicious. While the food is pricey, the quality and presentation are excellent. Nevertheless, the menu is somewhat limited. Overall, the dining experience is pleasant and heartwarming, with a memorable touch of inclusivity.

The ‘Mirchi & Mime Powai, one of the favourite hangout place for Bombay people. As you enter the place, a magnificent setting, a delightful vibes and the luxuries of modernity welcome you. Sitting in any table, you have a wonderful view of the interior -like kitchen where you can see the chefs working. The menu offers a wide variety of mouth- watering starters. I had paneer seekh, Dori Kabab, Stuffed Mushrooms & chicken tikka tacos accompanied by refreshing mock-tails . They were exquisite. All the products were fresh and the dishes had the warmth of homemade food. The chefs take great care in selecting the best quality ingredients. What a pity that the service does not accompany the high quality of the cooking. You can hardly get a smile out of the waiters. And not to forget, this is the first of its kind in India, served exclusively by speech & hearing-impaired service staff. Despite the high price of the food, I had a pleasant dining experience with food of the most exquisite flavours. For this reason, I highly recommend going to the this place.

I recently visited Mirchi and Mime for lunch, located in Powai next to Bayroute, and it left quite an impression on me. What sets this restaurant apart is its noble mission to employ specially abled individuals who are deaf and mute, making it a meaningful and heartwarming place to support. In terms of ambiance, Mirchi and Mime offers a pleasant atmosphere with attractive interiors, a well-designed bar counter, and comfortable furnishings. While it may not be considered high-end, it certainly surpasses the expectations of most diners. The staff, despite their hearing impairment, displayed remarkable attentiveness and a cheerful demeanor, which added to the overall charm of the place. Now, onto the food. Mirchi and Mime serves a variety of traditional Indian dishes like paneer, mushroom, dal roti, and biryani, though it doesn't venture into exotic culinary territory. The taste of the dishes is fair, falling into the average category. However, the presentation of the food is commendable. The mocktails, while not outstanding, are satisfactory, and the desserts stand out as a highlight. Cost-wise, Mirchi and Mime offers reasonable pricing, considering its prime location. Additionally, the convenience of valet parking enhances the overall experience. In conclusion, Mirchi and Mime is a restaurant worth visiting for its commendable mission, inviting ambiance, and reasonable pricing. While the food and mocktails may not be extraordinary, the warm atmosphere and friendly service from the specially-abled staff make it a meaningful dining experience. I would rate my overall experience between 3.5 to 4 stars, with the restaurant's mission deserving special recognition.
