Great place to satisfy your craving for fish. A great Mangalorian food place.
Clean restaurant, which is great for coastal seafood cuisine. There preparations are authentic and full of flavor. Highly recommended for prawns, fish etc. Other options, including vegetarian are good, but the appum, neer dosa, along with the seafood put them in a superior category.
Absolutely yummy food. Service is also very good. we were on business trip to mumbai and one of my customer suggested to try this hotel.Vsited the hotel at around 10:45 pm. Ordered Paneer Tikka and butter roti. And at last we were recommanded to try out kulfi and my goodness I havent eat such a delicious kulfi in my life. Though kulfi was of 200/- INR, it was worth of the price, will definitely go and try its kulfi once Again whenever in fort area of mumbai.
This place has been around since 1942 and still going strong. The sole curry is yummmmmmmmmm. Try the clams cooked in the typical kerala way with red spices and coconut and the kerala mutton. The tawa fried rawas (boneless) was cooked to perfection with just the right amount of masalas so that you could actually taste the fish. The Kerala parathas were delicious. There is no parking near the restaurant neither do they offer valet service as it is in a tiny lane. The closest parking area is the Flora Fountain parking lot...good luck with that!. Better to come by cab. People who have mobility issues please beware there are 3 steps to walk down to the dining area. Not wheelchair accessible at all. This was my second visit and would go there again!
The seafood here is amazing. We had ordered Rawas karwari curry, appam and steam rice. The food was delicious. A must visit from every seafood lover.
Located in the inner lanes of fort area, Ankur is a good destination for coastal, Manglorean type food. Visit on a Sunday when it's less crowded and noisy. Try the Crab Kolkata soup, Squid in red masala and the neer dosa.
The restaurant serves alcohol also. Prices are bit on the higher side. Parking is a problem in its vicinity.
The most homestyle and least pretentious of the holy trifecta of seafood restaurants in SoBo. The prawns are soooooooo good. Prices are very reasonable and the restaurant isn't slammed every night like Trishna and Mahesh. Serves booze.
bar not very well stocked but the food is absolutely yummy. the prawns and butter garlic squids are excellent. will visit again.
Authentic sea food, specially kerala and maglorian dishes. My experience is with propmphet fry, prawns and carlsberg smoothie. Nice ambience, high end restro
I have always held that Ankur is better than Trishna and the thought is reinforced every time I visit. Their Prawn Ghassi is to die for, their tandoori Pomfret is the best in the city. Even their Bombil, in season, at least matches that of Gajali. It's a no brainer.
