Hello mumbaikarss.... looking for dessert?? You can just visit this place if you are on for a ride.. or near by cst.. the flavour is sooo pureee and it meltss sooo well.. the chocolate flavour is what ill recommend!!
Unique. Awesome. Respect the long traditional history. Taste and quality maintained. Upgrade ambience and number of outlets to give these new brands.
After having an hefty amount of food around here during Ramadan, it was time to "target and pounce upon" desserts to end the day on a high note. And in this search, we came across Taj Ice-Cream.
Located in the vicinity of Shalimar Restaurant, Taj Ice-cream was established in 1887, which by simple math, is 133 year olds ! Ice-creams here are made in copper sanchas.
We tried out mango ice cream and mango milkshake considering it was the month of may and we were taken aback by it's quality. The ice creams here have a distinct texture and taste compared to every ice-creams I've ever had. I could easily call it the best ice cream that I've had in my life ! TOTALLY RECOMMENDED !
The place is around 130 years old and is currently being run by the sixth generation of the family. Its famous for its hand made ice cream and the signature ice creams are the fruit flavored ones. Though a small place but the taste of the ice cream is unparalleled. You can actually feel that it is hand made. I had the strawberry flavored ice cream and it was top notch.
A must visit place to experience the taste if you live in Mumbai.
Fruitilicious fresh hand churned ice cream. Ordered Fresh sitafal and Mango flavours and you could taste the fruit in every bite. Delighted to be able to eat fresh mango ice cream in the month of November. Price is a bit higher than usual, but worth every buck. Super stuff.
Hand made ice cream with very homely feelings !
We tried chiku and lichi ice cream
Value for money ! ✌️
They have hand crafted Sancha ice cream at this iconic ice cream parlour. We tried the litchi and mango flavours. Both were excellent. The place is a little cramped and out of the way but it is a slice of history - Taj Ice creams have been around since 1887!
What can I say. At first I was doubtful abt this place. After looking at the location. Etc. Etc. But the ice cream. It was heaven for it's price. I had custard apple and mango. Both were super awesome. I wish taj ice cream was near my place. Very happy.. 😎☺️...................................
Not a very great big sized place but the ice-creams served are as fresh as it gets.
Most favourite is Sitaphal, Peru and Tender Coconut. A must try place if around the area.
This place is legendary, and it isn’t just me who thinks so. Zomato included them in their hidden gems list. If you’ve ever had ice cream at Taj Icecream then you’d probably not be able to appreciate any of the less satisfactory versions of ice creams like the ones they sell at baskin robins or naturals. This should legit be on your list of must eat at when in Mumbai. Take it from a guy who’s spent most of his money on food 🤷🏼♂️
⭐️ Best Ice cream I got so far in India ⭐️
You really can taste the fruit pieces in the ice cream. The sortiment is seasonal but still that big that there is the right ice cream for every taste.
Give it a try and enjoy this delicious masterpiece.
I recently tried this ice cream, and it's undeniably one of the best I've ever tasted. The quality is exceptional, and it captures an authentic flavor that truly stands out. I absolutely loved it – a definite winner.
Taj icecream is more than 100 years old. People have got it totally wrong that they function only during the Holy month of Ramadan.
The service is quick. The place is small-hidden gem with no proper seating arrangement. Ambience is okaish.
They are undoubtly the kings of handmade sancha icecreams.
Their seasonal picks are to die for-Mango, sitaphal, muskmelon, litchi are all class apart.
The texture of icecream cant be called smooth as every bite will have chunks of freshfruit added to the icecream
At taj icecream... waah taj ka hai raj

Taj Ice cream is an iconic not to be missed hand churned ice cream place.
There seasonal ice creams- mango and guava were absolute love. The seasonal fruit ice creams have any amazing texture due to the chunks of fresh fruit.
Though didn't enjoy their Mix Fruit Taj special.
Handmade icream with traditional method still available in Mumbai. Had Mango and Peru ice-cream amazing texture and natural taste with real fruit chunks in it . Affordable price 👌. Must try for amazing experience
My mom always talks about Taj, they always had icecreams from here since her childhood. I gave it a try last week and honestly, all the big brands failed it. Worth every bite.
They serve creamy, hand-churned icecream which is not too expensive. I tried the Sitaphal and it was perfect in every way. I love how their pieces of history are framed on the wall.
Finally got a chance to visit the famous Taj Icecream located in the lanes of bhendi bazaar. This small joint is in business since 1887 and serves delicious hand churned icecreams in small cups and they even have family packs. Recommended flavours are their famous mixed fruit and malai. Any seasonal fruit's icecream is worth trying. The walls are full of the awards, articles and photos of famous personalities who have visited this place including late PM Jawaharlal Nehru.
Hand made sacha icecream with great taste
Smooth, consistent and flavour
Located near Tawakkal
Well it's different to what I have had I would say naturals is somewhat close to it.
Their malai icecream was superb.
