Located in one of the many by-lanes of Bandra west, Between Breads was our choice of venue for lunch. A tiny cafe, with just a handful of tables, we found it surprisingly empty, being a Sunday. Greeted by bright and airy interiors, we picked our table, and started off with Peach Iced Tea, which was wonderfully refreshing, and not too sweet either. For starters we chose 2 dishes, Bacon Bombs and Peri Peri Fries. The bombs were essentially meat balls with cheese and bacon stuffed in it, really yummy with a nice crispy outer layer. A special mention to the mayo dip accompanying it, although plain and simple, we couldn't stop having it. The fries were a hit too, spicy peri peri flavored salt covering them, we really liked this one. However, what spoiled the fun while having those dishes was the service. No separate dishes for individual customers, and flimsy wooden forks were given, that too only after being asked for. I can understand those forks being handed out for delivery orders, but to be given at the table, and no knives or spoons either? Not too happy with that. Up next we had two sandwiches, The Twisted Teriyaki, and The Paprika. The teriyaki was typically on the sweeter side, while the paprika was spicy, and the bread in both cases was amazing, fresh and soft, overall we loved both sandwiches. This was followed by Beef Chilli Dawg, a hotdog with chicken sausage on the middle and mince meat on top. Once again the bread was top class, the sausage was lovely, and the mince wasn't bad either. The final order was a burger, The Chicken Not-So Little. A filling of fried, crispy chicken, and some sriracha, it was a mixed experience, although it was tasty, there wasn't as much meat in it as expected. To sum up then, Between Breads serves some truly excellent food, at not very high prices, and the portion sizes are decent too. My only real gripe being the unsatisfactory customer service at the table, that's the only reason I am not giving a 5 star rating.
