A Hidden Gem!!!
Very nice place for a bun-maska and to watch the world go by on the bustling street outside. The owner says its been running for approximately 85 years. Come here early to combine this place with a visit to the opera house for a true Bombay nostalgia experience. Also don't miss the egg preparations.

Guaranteed best eggs and chai in the city! The owner Gustaad lovingly makes it for all his clients. A homely touch with satiating food. Don't miss!

One chilly winter morning me and my friend had work at Opera House for fixing his Stereo System in his brand new Tata Tigor (nice car btw!) We left from home quite early and were searching for a place to grab some breakfast.

So while parking we stumble upon this cafe that's sort of dull and dinghy. The owner helped us park the car as it was a one way and obviously didn't want our brand new car getting towed.

So we park our car in peace and enter this place that instantly strikes you that this is an Irani cafe similar to the Kayani's or any other town side cafe. BUT WAIT. There was a difference to be spotted here and that's what kept this place apart from the others. This cafe wasn't crowded at all!

This tall man with a Parsi English accent comes to us asking about our needs for breakfast. He immediately orders the waiter for two bun maskas and two cutting chai. Both of the dishes were on point. Even though this wasn't much of a breakfast, it satiated our hunger for the time being.

There was something that attracted me to this cafe and that was it's quietness among the hustle and bustle of the usual town roads. It had all that was needed in a 70 Year Old Irani Cafe. The old architecture, the woody old chairs of the 80's, the marble table and racks of Parle-G! It was perfect. This place wasn't meant for crowd. This place was something that you and your friend would have a need to sit down and just talk about memories. Go down memory lane and nostalgia with all the daily commuters and vehicles passing by the cafe.

The owner was sweet enough and even told us if we ever felt tired we could come and sit and relax at anytime of the day. WHO THE HELL IS SO NICE IN TODAY'S WORLD?

The best cheese omelette I ever had. Also please try the broon roast specially prepared by Gustadji. The chai was superb. I request every foodie to visit this place.

Dela Paix is a wonderful Parsi cafe reminiscent of the old Bombay as it was in the 1970’s. The menu is limited but the quality is excellent and the egg preparations are all fantastic. The tea is superb and will have you craving for more. But above all the owners of the restaurant are wonderfully warm people who treat each client with respect and warmth and make sure the entire experience is a memorable one.

More people should be visiting here, its not like its got a lot of variety, the chai, the omelette and the bun maska being all, but the ambience and the behaviour of the hosts make up for it all. Moreover the chai is extremely well made, one won't just be able to leave after one cup!

You walk through the high rise buildings in Chowpaty and then spot an unusually charming, low-rise building and that is Cafe Dela Paix.
Cafe Dela Paix, a Parsi restaurant gives a very shading, secure feeling once you enter it. Its humble, under-played interiors soothes to take a seat in the vintage furniture, small wooden tables and chairs. Huge openings which does not differentiate much between the entrances and the windows gives good ventillation and an open feeling.
I make myself seated in a round table by the window adjacent to the road, peacefully watching the busy traffic running. There are no menu cards as such, an attender comes by and verbally gives me the menu. I ordered a double omelette with pav along with cutting chai. So this man slips into a half-enclosed, tiny kitchen in the corner and brings me my order in about 10 minutes.
The food was mouth-watering and delicious, omelette geometrically pressed in between the pavs! The chai was relaxing. Pricing was not high, neither low.
At the end of the meal I found myself relaxed by the calm interiors and good food. As i was paying my bill amount to an old man at the counter, I found out he was the owner of the restaurant. I complimented him on his restaurant and asked him details about it. This restaurant was started by his father 70 years back. No wonder it had the old-world charm!

I walked into this empty quaint looking place in a rush, when a man gets up from the table and asks me about my preference of drinking water. In a while, I looked through the small kitchen and asked the boy about the food available here, since I looked around and found no menu cards. I asked for a cheese omelette with a cutting. Meanwhile I realised it happened to be my high point of the day, while trapped among the humdrum electronic dealers of Lamington Road, Cafe Dela Paix was more than just a relief.
The evenly relaxed comforting interiors, with a quiet working kitchen. A rare quaint amusement as the freshly cooked cheese omelette came and was offered with sliced bun and chai - fulfilling a homely supper need. I was elated to learn that it wasn't exorbitantly priced as I thought, instead it came to my understanding what the charm of an Irani cafe was!

Had breakfast here after a tiresome day of moving and it revitalized me for the whole day of unpacking ahead so I just had to repeat it the next day with more friends. Cozy homey atmosphere with the old parsi décor. Started off with Pudina Chai with brunh maska both of which is a must have classic. The cheese scrambled egg was perfect thing to continue the morning hog with. Another interesting dish to try out is the cheese omlet sandwich which comes with bun instead of bread. The ambience is rustic classic parsi with the old school charm. The service is very good with the a very relaxed atmosphere as everything is made to perfection and exactly how you want it. With definitely be a regular here.
