Hotel Poornima - One of the oldest restaurant near mafco market, it started as restaurant and now it has converted to bar & restaurant. This is one of the restaurant with authentic udipi style food. The restaurant is managed by Shetty's.
Food - We had tried this hotel before never got chance to write review about it. This time we had ordered Chicken 65, Chicken Fry Masala, Prawns Koliwada, Tandoori Roti and Jeera Rice. The food has its authentic flavours and is good for taste. The Chicken 65 was much better than I had eaten in some of Chinese places.
Cost - the restaurant is quite reasonable and affordable if you are low on budget. We had above all items and the bill was just 392 INR.
Ambience - the ambience is good as it is low budget hotel, but the restaurant is clean. If not OK eating here, you can always take parcel from here. Also, please note they don't provide home delivery..
I stumped across this place during my week stay near Sanpada in my quest to try something of local flavour... I was quite impressed by the food actually... Ordered a fish thali once and a chicken thali and both were quite delicious and tad bit spicy... The place was quite clean and frequented by the local working populous... My friend had ordered vegetarian and that was ok... But what surprised me was the cost... Really affordable and tasty... They don't provide home delivery which is the sad part though... I'd rate it well for the cost, spicy food and the local taste...
