I visited this place for the popular demand of its biryani... I tried it and it really lives upto the name it has made over these years... The ambience is not good... I suggest u pack the biryani and eat at home...
Tanduri chicken is best, cost is high and noisy. environment so ambience is not good but taste is good value of money dishes.

Occasion: Shopping at MG Road.
Had needed a better place for lunch. Already tried 11 East Street Cafe and Dorabjee's, so needed a change of taste. Ambience: Sweet and Calm.

Butter Roti
Rogan Chicken
Jeera Masala
Presentation: nice and well presented.
Taste: Chilly Chicken was a little spicy, and oily. Rogan Chicken was less spicy and oily. Butter roti was like dipped in butter. Loved the Jeera Masala cold drink that I had.
Pros: taste wise and presentation, its good. Staff behaviour: friendly and courteous. Quick service, Pocket friendly, even if you go for a three course meal. Menu filled with lovely dishes, will go for multiple visits.
Cons: No swipe system!! :'( Need to get that. Need to reduce oil content on dishes. Bahut oil daalte ho yaar...daalo...par aisa ki daala hai, par pata na chale, aur dish ka taste bhi bana rahe.
Overall experience: awesome. Would love to visit again.
One of my office colleague took me over here, he had tried this restaurant couple of years back. We were hungry when we reached and ordered biryani. Biryani was not that much great, after that we had ordered chicken Tandoori and butter chicken, both were delicious.

Grand Darbar is a pretty basic restaurant with not many amenities but having said that it's food especially the biryanis and kebabs are off the hook and makes you forget all its shortcomings.

This place is where you get one of the best biryani in pune. Food quality is 4.0 losing a few marks on spices. Ambience is 2.5 for lack of basic amenities like an AC(& really bad sofas). Tandoori chicken is a must, really full of masala( will get u sweating). Service is OK( no issues). If u don't mind a not too hygenic place to eat this can b d perfect place.
Grand Darbar is actually Grand when it comes to Biryanis.
One thing that comes to my mind after hearing about this place is their biryani.
People i haven't tried anything else except the chicken and mutton Biryani, but trust me i haven't liked biryani anywhere else after this.
If anyone has not tried their biryani trust me you are missing on something.
I feel they should make the sitting arrangement more nice so more people can visit this place.
Guys dont ever take the biryani in form of parcel as it wont taste its actual taste .

Too good. If you want to have really good biriyani, then this is the place. Very good taste and quick service. Been here many times and they haven't compromised on the taste. The another dish you would like to check out is Chicken Chilly.
They do not have "Credit/Debit Card" facility, so ensure you carry cash along with you. No swipe of cards, which is bit unusual these days, but doesn't matter....Biriyanii......wallah wallah!!!!!
One of the finest biryani's in Pune served with boiled potato! Should definitely try Raan but order shall be made one day prior in advance. Chicken bhuna platter strongly advised for large groups.
