Potbhar is famous for it's Malvani and Konkani Cuisine. It is a small joint but the taste is definitely worth it. Deliveries are the go to option.
Ordered a Mutton Vade Meal and Mutton Sukka. Both tasted excellent. The Mutton Masala gravy was full of authentic flavours and went well with the Vade. The pieces of mutton were very soft and juicy. The spice level was perfect for both the dishes. The Vade were soft and not too oily. They were generous in providing 6 pieces because most of the restaurants provide only 4 in one plate.
The prices are also very affordable. The Mutton Sukka was again very tasty. It was prepared in thick gravy and had all the right amount of flavours and spices. The mutton pieces were melting in the mouth and were present in sufficient quantity in both the dishes. Just wish they could improve the packaging of the delivery. But full marks for the food taste though.

Potbhar is an Authentic Malwani Restaurant in Thane. The place is pretty small, can only accommodate 4-5 tables. If you visit this place on weekends or reach here after 9 pm on non-veg days then you may have to wait long to get your table. 😐
We visited here before COVID lockdown. The ambience is very ordinary. Come here with 4 persons or less than 4 person group as the seating arrangement is fixed can't be adjusted. You can't add 5th person as there is no space for 5th chair. 😅
It's a request to Potbhar restaurant management to increase the seating capacity so that more people can seat & taste Potbhar's lips snacking food. The place is well known for its seafood dishes.😋

4. Prawns Biryani - 280 Rs.
5. Tisarya Sukha - 210 Rs.
The fishes were fresh. Food quality & taste were amazing. Our Personal Recommendations are Tisarya Sukha, Bombil Fry, Prawns Biryani.😋👌
They do provide a bowl of sol kadhi with fish thalis but you can also separately order extra Sol Kadi as we did.
Overall a Highly Recommended Place in Thane for Seafood & Malwani Cuisine Lovers.😊

Potbhar is near panchpakhadi area in Thane. Special for malwani and sea food. Taste was nice. Thali system also available. Atmosphere is very good. Do try.
Potbhar serves decent Malvani food in Thane.
The Chicken Thali and the bombil fry are a must try.
Also, the Solkadi is one of the best we've had in Thane.
We plan to try their biryani next!

I m not a huge fan of seafood but if you really love sea food you have to visit this spot it serves the best sea food also the rates are quite affordable. Later day we ordered chicken kombadi vade which had generous portions of chicken the gravy was quite delicious authentic Malvani style. Next was prawns thali which had one rice bhakari,prawns Kalvan (gravy),bowl of rice,dried prawns fry. Surmai Thali had one bhakari,one big proportion of fried surmai which was crispy and fried really well,gravy with fish,dried prawns fry,bowl of rice. Super delicious. Next we had was pomfret Thali which had a huge fried pomfret the size was really great,then rice bhakari,fried fry pomfret,a gravy,a bowl of rice. Also you can order extra bhakari,rice or vade if needed. Overall my experience was PHOTBHAR

This place truly lives up to its name "Pot Bhar", by the time we were done with our lunch we were literally Stomach fullll...It was my first time visit to this place and this restaurant was recommended by my cousins stating they had an awesome experience in trying the different thalis and fish fry..A small joint but delicious food. We had Bombil Thali, Chicken Thali and Prawns Malvani Biryani. Biryani was yummy but a bit too spicy for me, Thalis lived upto the expectations. Overall a must visit place for sea food/ Malvani cuisine lovers 😊👍
This place is heaven for malvani/spicy food lover. The taste and quantity justifies the value for money concept.
The restaurant is quite small, vegetarians only gets to eat Masala Bhat. Most of the times they don't even have paneer, so it is a big thumb down for vegetarians.
Service is average as well, but the NON VEG food is finger licking (Both Chicken and seafood items).
One of the oldest place in Thane which i would call it a gem as this place is not known to many people tho! A big shoutout to this place! The food over is just damn amazing! But the main problems are
The place is very small and and service is not that good! They need to work alot on Sevice! We got a clear picture that after getting the Thali he wasn't interested in serving water and other things!

Outstanding Authentic Malwani food. It's a small joint near Teen Petrol Pump offers delicious seafood. The best seafood I ever had in Thane compared to other overhype seafood restaurants. It was so delicious and reasonable. We tried Pomfret thali, Surmai Thali, Tisrya Sukka, Bombil fry and Prawns fry. All the fish items were fresh and juicy and Their service is quick. Drawback of this restaurant is they only accept cash and seating arrangement is compact. Other than this all is good. I recommend this place for authentic malvani seafood lover.

Bombil Fry, Kolambi Tikhla, Mutton Vade, Bhakri, Kolambi Bhat, Surmai Tawa Fry and Solakdhi were the dishes I tried.
Everything was fresh and cooked properly.
The only thing I didn't like was Surmai Tawa Fry as masala i.e. the coating was very less and result didn't taste great.
And Solkadhi after your meal is must have.
I have been going to this place from quite a few time, cozy but amazing restaurant. They are known for their fish thalis. Must try is Surmai thali, prawns sukha and Sol kadi.
Authentic taste. Must visit if you want Malwani style sea food. Pricing is very much in budget. 5 adults + 1 kid in Rs 2200.
Amazing food..fish was fresh fresh , perfectly cooked. My only suggestion would be on the fish gravy...my preferred curry consistency would be a little thicker
Hands down best chicken thali I had in thane till date. I also had vade apart from bhakari and they are best in in test. The place is really crowded and there is around 20 min waiting for table on weekends.

Very good Small but Fine Hotel, famous for Sea Food and non veg Food. Just on the Ghantali Devi Road and near Teen Petrol Pump in Thane West. Very crowded on Saturday Sundays have long waitng. Food is very good but very costly like Surmai Thali 400Rs and Pomfret Rs 450
Awesome peaceful air conditioned ambience with considerably quick service and very tasty variety of food at reasonable price.
Sea food is the speciality.
Cons:
You have to pay strictly and completely by hard cash only and no cards or online payments are accepted.
You may have to wait for about 15-20 mins especially on the non veg days like Wednesday Friday Sunday when its crowded. Otherwise its easy to get the seat quickly.

Small and quaint joint. Few tables and chairs, so be early...
They start with their signature Maharashtrian Malvani Coconut Chutney.
Tried the Prawns Tikhala (a thick prawn gravy) with authentic Vades.
Also had the Bombil Rava Fry, Surmai Tawa Fry, Prawns Rava Fry and Bheja Fry. All were just awesome.
Top it all off with their Solkadi.
Reasonable rates and good quantity.
Service is fast and with a smile.
You can also try their Thalis, Biryanis, North Indian or Chinese.
