I had been here last year and they are famously known for their meals and I was lucky to indulge in. The curries were freshly made and the food came served hot. It is better to call up the restaurant for reservations since they have a huge wait.
This was a home delivery order. I had ordered Puttu Biryani and Konju Chuttathu. Both were tasty. The Puttu Biryani was a bit dry. I had expected meat to be as part of the Puttu Biryani, however it was again prawns after having our started with the Konju Chuttathu (delicious BTW). Een the photo from Zomato asking me to write a review had the Puttu biryani as having pieces of meat as one may see from the attached.
Should I have ordered the wrong set, would suggest that the menu gets updated with clear indications. Besides the "dryness", the taste was good.
I went to pankayam with my partner. He is not a malayali and i wanted him to experience the good old malayali sadya. We visited on a Sunday afternoon and the place was bursting at its seams. We were promised a seat in 10 minutes and they delivered on it. The food tasted exactly like the food we have in typical malayali households. It is one of the places to go to if you want to experience authentic malayali food. Malayali food is mostly made of coconut milk and it's ideal for vegans as well. It would be nice if the items placed on the table could be in labelled jars to facilitate understanding for non malayalis. This place has a quick turnover. Will not suggest in case you are looking are for a leisurely lunch/brunch(atleast not over the weekend)

Cons: The person making the juices/shakes in the attached juice stall had overgrown dirty finger nails and also a possible fungal infection around his nails. It would be advisable to ensure hygienic food handling practices
Right place to be if you are a seafood lover. Placed between murinjapalam and medical college. Better park on the sides of the road for easy access.
The first impression is the best impression they say, the view we get when we go inside is awesome. Like the name implies it’s all about Sea Lake and Land.
The service is really good. The food is really delicious and worth the price. Each dish we ordered was yummy. The standout was “mutton liver fry” and “avoli thava fry”.
They have different menu for lunch and dinner. So better you try both. I have only tried the dinner as of now. Waiting to get my hands on the lunch menu..!!!
One among the best Keralite lunch I've had at Trivandrum. Decent food, maintain structure quality in food, brilliant service, good ambience. The only down side is the short of parking space.
One of the best meals in TVM. I'm a seafood lover and at Pankayam I've tried some remarkable dishes above all the fried clams and the small fish with a green sauce.
The place is very well known and at lunchtime it may result a bit crammed with the waiting area full and people ogling and staring in awe. some very rude invaded our table when we still had to clear the bill and the waiters to remove the leftovers....that it's not exactly pleasant. This is my only complaint for the management to be more in control of the people in line to assure those enjoying the food a nice customer experience also.

Visited Pankayam for dinner with my family. The total setting of the restaurant was really attractive and also the way the menu was presented as if on number plates requires special mention. Found some not so common items such as rabbit roast, fry etc. We orderd rabbit roast, prawns roast, special mutton fry, vegetable curry with aripathiri and chapati. They have a complementary ginger tea which is really tasty. Food served on banana leaves is also an attractive style. Tastes were authentic kerala style. The review won't be complete without mentioning the quantity of the food, especially prawns. Normally when you order prawns roast you won't get to see much of prawns in the dishes, but here its different, prawns was more and gravy was sufficient. Even for other dishes, a single portion was sufficient for two people. The pricing was also reasonable - Rs. 1100/- for 5 people without desserts.
Final word - A restaurant that serves authentic kerala spicy cuisines for a reasonable price with good ambience and decent service.

One of the best places for lunch in Trivandrum, Pankayam makes no fuss about the dishes they serve. It's my go to place anytime I'm in this part of the city, provided I have enough time to enjoy a bite. The place has a good ambience, they are extremely busy during peak hours and parking would be road side since their front yard can only accommodate 4-5 cars at a time.
Lunchtime mainly consists of oonu on a banana leaf with all sorts of accompaniments as expected from a typical Kerala sadya. A veg curry tasting similar to fish curry, sambhar, moru curry, parippu curry and moru are already at the table in small baranis which are refilled as needed. Once the banana leaf is placed on the table, pickle, pappadam, avial, kootu curry, payasam, thoran and rice are served.
A person walks around the restaurant offering the sea food specials of the day like fish fry, squid fry and prawns fry. Whatever you choose to pickup is billed, similar to dimsum restaurants. You may ask the waiters for any other food items and they'll be glad to help. Everyone is warm, courteous and tries to make your meal comfortable however possible.
This is just a small gist of what you expect and I'll add more as and when I visit the next time. Hope you'll have a great time as I do everytime I visit.

Comming to the food!
I loved the dishes to the max that we ordered. We batch of 8 persons ordered 13 different dishes. And I love the dish I ordered "Chattichoru" which is a combo of all non-veg items served in a kadai...This gives you the complete cult Kerala style meal.
I should mention this! About the Service...
Mr. Karthik! This person has a wonderful conduct with a beautiful smile. All the staff were so humble and co-operative and gave us a pleasent service!

3rd day of India Trivandrum.
Randomly catch up this place very unique eye catching honestly. This place made by within couple of container boxes which is something new to be experienced.
I have tried a rice & curry dish called “sadya meal “ which contains 8 different curries and separately ordered prawns 🍤 which is spicy as hell but all together the foods are amazing!! Love them a lot.
Also I ordered fresh pineapple 🍍 juice which is best.
Highly recommended for those who are interested in these kind of foods
Customer services was best as well very friendly and helpful explained me clearly which are the curries and displayed the seafood which available!
Even though I accidentally choose spicy prawn it was tasty.
It’s clearly a fully crowded place, finding a table here will not be easy but at the same time very chilling place with good people.
Can recommended for kids, family, couple or singles like me to come over and have a loving time with great delicious foods.
Thank you for giving me a good time over here and will be back asap. Till the next vacation!

Nice food and great rustic ambiance. The place felt neat and tidy. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The only thing which could be better is that there are so many staff trying to serve simultaneously which felt a bit intimidating- I will be happy with one staff catering to a customer.

Absolutely brilliant place. Really good ambience in this place. Food was pretty dope as well. We ordered a veg meals and teamed it with some seafood. The spices were on point not too spicy either.

The food at pankayam was absolutely exceptional. Every bite of seafood was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and expertly prepared. Not only was the food outstanding, but the ambience of the restaurant was also truly delightful. The seating arrangements were well-spaced, allowing for a comfortable and intimate dining experience.

My friends and I had a very nice dining experience. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially Rekha Mam. Loved the Sadya and will definitely come again.
In my POV, Pankayam is one of the few restaurants that serves a good portion of Kerala meals at lunch time in Thiruvananthapuram city. For that reason, the place is busier during lunch time. A variety of fish fry and a variety of Kappa (Tapioca) dishes are there. Vegetarian meals will cost Rs. 130 per person, and fish fry rates start at 180 rupees, if I remember correctly. Friendly staff, especially the female staff I met. The day I visited the restaurant, there were a lot of customers waiting for the table. It would be better if there was better customer management during rush hours.
