If you want to try something other than Gujarati Cuisine then this place is best place for you. For kathiyawadi food lovers this is the best place they are looking for. A good place with good service and great tasting food at reasonable prices.
People who adore kathiyawadi (yes, it is different from gujrati cuisine) would have definitely visited this place by now. It's very popular for obvious reasons. It has good service and great tasting food at reasonable prices. I am not a fan of kathiyawadi food but still I liked this place. Nice. :)
Though the service is poor i enjoy their food so very much. If they improve their customer service and are able to serve them better no doubt this place will have a much better rating!

Mindblowing Kathyawadi food at an extremely reasonable rate. A sure shot must-visit-again kinda restaurant. A little more prompt service would do the necessary bit, but loved the experience.
A different taste and essence of their food, which actually makes them the best kathiyawadi food chain in town. The originality of kathiywadi in this restaurant is something everyone should try atleast once. Value for money, not to forget.
Negative aspect being :
Ambience and crowd is a bit dull. Unhygenic workplace, but the vegetables used are fresh.
Let the negative aspects not make you change your mind, haalo kismat! If you are a kathiyawadi.
!st time ever having gujrati food and where else to do that than a authentic gujrati restuarant. My girlfriend who is studying in vadodara took me here and i must say that i loved it. Cant really pronounce what all we had but the food was superb. Great first time experiance. One thing i do remember is i had begun ka bharta and dal fry jeera rice and many different types of rotis. But one confusion i did have . I am not at all familiar with the gujarati cuisine but few dishes and elements did have a little punjabi tone to , In my very very humle opinion, which has a lot of chances of being wrong.
All in all a fantastic night. Thumps up to this joint

So visit to my favorite Kathiyawadi restaurant had a bit of unwelcome surprise this time. They have squeezed themselves into a corner of the building (Procube Complex) and gave away large and prominent road facing space to Domino's. They are now half the size than they were before, with Neopolitan Pizza on the other side! It seems cheap, unlimited pizza is what everyone wants.
Fortunately there is still no compromise on the options, quality and taste of food at Kismat. We ordered the regular - Sev Tameta, Lasaniya Bataka, Mix Kathod (Kathol because Ringan No Olo wasn't available) Bajri No Rotlo with Ghee and Khichdi Kadhi as top up. Not that I miss it but there was no Punjabi on the menu which, if can recall well, was there in previous version.
Service, ambiance are not a matter of discussion when you talk Kathiyawadi food place. You sort of lower your expectation when you walk in to such place and just hope for tasteful meal. But as matter of fact the place has toned down a lot. Earlier it was a nice restaurant with decor where I could take my guests from abroad and they would not just like the food but would like the place too. Now I doubt they would like the place.
Guest or no guest, I'm just glad that the place is still in business and I can still enjoy their food. We were six of us and billed around 600 rupees for tankful. The Dhaba version of Kismat near Vasad serves the same thing at cheaper rate but that's another experience. For a Kathiywadi dinner within city area this place still rocks.

First of all a note to Zomato- Kismat Kathiyawadi is NOT located at Nizampura. It is located on the Vadodara-A'bad old highway near Vasad (comes right after the bridge on Mahi River at Fajalpur).
Now for the food- one word - excellent.
I have been coming to Kismat right from my college days. The taste has remained the same. The "Dhokli Nu Shaak", "Olo", "Lasaniya Bateta", "Masala Moong Nu Shaak" & "Sev Tameta Nu Shaak" are all time favourites. You can order these bindly and be assured that your tastebuds are in for a treat.
What I also like is liberal doses of "Chass" and "Ghee + Jaggery" served by them. They make an ideal combo with "Jowar/Bajri & Makkai Rotis" and the desi style "Parathas" that they serve.
The only flip side is that if you are expecting some sort of a good ambience then there isnt any.
Its by the highway and under a shed. The seating arrangements are basic. The desi style village "Khatiyas" serve as a seat to you. Frankly speaking, it looks laid back and relaxed and when you truly have mouthwatering food to eat, all this doesnt matter ( atleast to me).
If you are the types who likes proper seating arrangement, then this is not the place for you.
Also, if you are the types who's so very fussy about food hygiene, that you cannot trade a bit of hygiene for a great taste, then too you should not come.
I'd rather suggest you to go ahead, take the dare and please do eat all that I have mentioned. Have a good treat !
I think the address provided by zomato is either wrong or may be i don't know about their nirampura branch. Anyways all kismat kathiyawadi restaurants provide the quality food be it the restaurant in the amit nagar area or the one which is on a highway. It is my favorite place if i want to have kathiyawadi food that too not in a sophisticated AC restaurant but in a open dhaba. Talking about food quality it is very good. You would find it a bit oily but then kathiyawadi dishes can't be made with less oil and if made so it would not taste very good. The salads served with the main course is however not freshly made. We always ask to make the food spicier and they do it unlike many restaurants. Talking about the ambiance as i earlier said its an open dhaba and not with any fancy decorations. they don't have chairs and tables , you have to sit on a khatiya and eat. Interesting right? I would suggest to visit it in winters for dinner and cherish the extra spicy taste.
