As everything about greenwood is so perfect so each and every particular place is different among itself i like the place an homely environment food and everything is good
I would not say the best buffet but definitely one of the better buffet meal in Guwahati is served by this restaurant. Food is good service is better and the ambience is the best! A very nice dine out place for couples and friends. Almost every dish tickles the taste buds but if I had to name one.. The Railway Mutton Curry! Absolute Gem!

The place has to be special for it was an important moment in our lives. Post wedding and a hectic month, we wanted to just get out of our kitchens and slouch back at a place with cosy atmosphere and good food. The reason I fell for my woman is that she is a fabuous foodie and she has selected the perfect place for such a quick gateway for the entire family. It was to be Machan restaurant within the Greenwood compound. Located in the midst of natural greenery with resting peace, this place is just situated at the edge of the periphery of urban Guwahati. But, it was amazing that it preserved the natural feeling of pristine peace and laziness. I loved it.
Coming to food, did they cook some brilliant food? Oh dear! Look at those pictures and you can let your imagination take care of the taste. I always complained about a good place where you get good food, with nice yet subtle interiors, great natural exterior and that is not too far from the city. That day, I got my answer. The food was deli-sh and it won't burn a hole in your pocket. As we were coming out, we bought some nice bakery items that were fresh like the morning sun for our evening tea in our home. An out and out complete experience in this nice place.

Okay personally im a machan lover. If you are looking to dine like the king of jungle himself, machan sure is the place, ambience is like most machans, but the food is surely mouthwatering, i wont recommend you to take normal diners cause it lacks value for money, if u want to have a fullon "paisa vasool" dinner/lunch then take the buffet. Devour into their mouth watering entre, as they serve you with 5 different kababs, their basha fish kababs actually melts in your mouth. I actually stuffed myself with the entre hardly had any place left in my stomach for the maincourse but foodie i am i tried the maincourse wasnt very pleased with it though they ll offer alot to choose from, and satisfactory dessert with their ice cream, bread pudding/ gulab jamun and kheer/ moong dal halwa and ofcourse fresh fruit. With machan buffet the entre is the main attraction.
p.s. if you eat sensibly and dont just stuff yourself with the entre you might be able to consume machan to its utmost glory.
