No place like Oh Calcutta. Me and my hubby are foody and whenever we go to Oh Calcutta we just enjoying eating the Bengali platter and the staffs are so humble. A must go place.
Undoubtedly the best Bengali restaurant in Hyderabad. Very authentic, classy Bengali food and environment.
Must try : Luchi-Kosha Mangsho, Vetki Jhal, Dab Chingri, Nolen Gurer Ice Cream
Mutton was very fresh and tender. Vetki and Chingri also supreme quality.
Had them all. Fantastic home feeling.
One of the best place to eat Bengali food or in general good food! They have a limited menu but everything is good. Our go to is always Daab Bhapa Maach (Coconut Steamed Fish)! Give it a try.
As mentioned by others this is indeed a little expensive place, but the food is really tasty. This was our first visit to a Bengali Cuisine and we are glad that it was at Oh! Calcutta. Everything from starters till deserts it was too good. Staff helped us in deciding our dishes and are very courteous. Make sure you visit this place at leisure, as the service is slow. We enjoyed that as we visited for a leisure late night dinner. May be they will be quick if you ask for. Overall a good experience and would recommend to others.
We ordered the following:
Starter - Bhapa chenna aam kashundi & mochar chop
Main course - steamed rice, pressure cooker mutton curry & chingri malai curry
Dessert - nolen gurer ice cream & roshogolla
All the items tasted heavenly. Will visit again soon.
Best Bengali food in town i guess....must visit place . Calcutta fish fry is a must try...the staff is very courteous and they help you with the menu....the service is a tad slow ...the price is on a higher end....
Everytime I come here and I am amazed again and again with the Pressure Cooker Mangshor Jhol... Do visit this amazing restaurant to try this signature dish...
Oh! Calcutta is a very popular fine dining Bengali restaurant which has branch in all over India. I visited there recently for lunch , so will review few items I tasted last time.
Topsher Cutlet(Starter)- Per plate contains 4 standard size cutlets. Taste is good. It's not spicy. Can be served to two people easily .👌
Price per plate- 390.
I'll rate it 4.1/5
Jhinge Alu posto Large(Veg curry item)- It's served in a large quantity with diced Ridge gourd and potatoes with thick paste of poppy seeds. I found it finger lickin!😋
Price per plate- 375.
I'll rate it 4.6/5
Ilish Fry portion(Hilsa Fry) - I think this dish does not need any introduction. I must say one thing, they provided really very good quality and tasty Hilsa .
Per plate contains one big piece along with 2 standard size fried Roe. I won't try to explain the taste, my mouth is watery already.😜😋
Price per plate-590.
I'll rate it 4.4/5
Bhetki Kalia- Taste of Bhetki was good, I would not mention very good though. I found little sweetness in the gravy, which I didn't like much. All-over, the item is OK.😊
Per plate contains 2 standard pieces of Bhetki along with semi thick gravy.
Price per plate-690
I'll rate it 3.6/5
Gandharaj Shikanji- This Mocktail is very soothing and refreshing. I just loved it. Will recommend everyone to have it once you visit Oh! Calcutta.❤️
Price -160
I'll rate it 4.7/5
I'll rate the appearance: 4.3/5
I'll rate the Waiter service: 4.5/5
The food was amazing. Authentic bengali food. We had ghee pulao, cholar dal, begun bhaja, rui kalia , mutton kosha and roshogolla. Everything was damn tasty. Their service was also ver nice. Polite behaviour of the staff. A bit on the expensive side but worth the price
Recently visited the place, totally for the love of FISH. Absolutely liked my experience over here and surprisingly, my husband loved it too. Unlike me, he is not a fish eater or lover, but I think since yesterday Oh! Calcutta managed to change him.
We ordered Loityya Maach Fry and Kakra Chingri Bhapa for starters and totally loved the distinct flavours. The Bhapa turned out to be unexpectedly yummy and the Maach Fry was beyond description. Later, we ordered Char Grilled Promfret in Lemon and Mustard paste and it was simply finger licking.
For main course we ordered Rui Maacher Dom Jhol and Rice, which was average as I felt the salt was less in the curry.
For desserts we ordered Rosogolla and Bhapa Sondesh- Sondesh was on point and tasty, but was a but disappointed with Rosogolla as it was warm and I dont like my desserts warm or hot.
Overall my experience was good and am completely satisfied with the food and the ambience. Would recommend it to friends and would visit them again and again to try their other dishes on the menu.
