Vasanta Bhavan

My first dining experience at Vasantha Bhavan was very average as that was the day of their opening and their operations went for a toss. I trusted the brand and visited the restaurant a couple more times , both times for lunch. The service had improved significantly and the food was really good. I ordered for the South Indian thali or the VB thali as they call it & I was happy that the brand delivered on their promise. The meals have been consistently good. HIghlights - Sambhar, poriyal, kootu & poori kurma. It would be nice if the waiters know the tamil names of the dishes because they serve a tamil dish and call it something else. I actually got a little confused :-) This is the real Tamil Nadu style meals that one cannot easily find in Hyderabad and people who crave for such food wouldn't be disappointed. Shyam, who is one of the chief in their service team is very friendly and he remembers me every time I visit them, which is nice. I will definitely visit VB again to explore more south Indian tiffin items. Connoisseurs of real TN style food like me living in Hyd have been waiting for a place like this for a while. Though it doesn't match the standards of the Chennai Saravana Bhavan or the same Vasantha Bhavan there, it is the closest that you can think of.in Hyderabad. Chutneys & Minerva - Wake up and start preparing real Sambhar now before its too late!
