The concept of this restaurant is that it is served in a dried palm leaf bowl called a ಡೊನ್ನೆ (Donne). The rice they use here is Jeeraga Samba rice grown particularly in South India. The rice is cooked in a beautiful paste of mint, coriander and spices. The chicken/mutton is cooked seperately. While the rice remains the same for all biryani, only the toppings change. It comes with a raita and an occasional mirchi chutney. Each Donne Biryani comes with 4 chicken pieces if you opt for the chicken variant, half an egg, raita, onion and lemon. Each portion of the biryani can fill your stomach easily. . . Having set it's foot in Hyderabad, the land of Nizams and the famous Hyderabadi Biryani, we see how it fares. To start, both have contrasting tastes. The Donne Biryani feels heavier than the Hyderabadi biryani because of the use of different type of rice. Both makes you happy and you're left satisfied. The restaurant in SR nagar is a small place, so it is usually crowded. Wait time is around 5-10 minutes. Service is fast too. Ever heard about Donne Biriyani? This place Chickpet Donne Biriyani house serves a very famous dish from south Bengaluru, it’s their specialty dish. The concept of this biriyani is that it is served in a dried palm leaf bowl which is know as Donne, rice use in it is jeeraga samba rice which is particularly grown in south India,the rice is cooked in mint paste,coriander and spices. They have a good variety of Donne Biriyani like chicken,mutton,fish,etc.., the rice is same in all the biriyani’s only the toppings change which are cooked separately, fine texture of rice and masala added in it was something really interesting to have,it’s something totally different from our Hyderabadi Biriyani. Also it serves many variety of Veg & Non-Veg starters which are cooked in south Indian style. Worth visiting for lunch or dinner. It's completely different from the Hyderabadi biryani which we eat. It's made of "chitti mutyalu" rice and so is the texture shown in pic. Tried their kakinada biryani and it's good. Rice is definitely flavourful.

Swiggy is charging extra 80 rs on all biryanis it's better to take directly from the restaurant

Food is good. We bought Briyani and Mutton sidedish. There was lot of oil in the Gongura Chicken. Since the kitchen was so close it was smoky in the waiting area. No parking
