Kafe D Kochi

Stayed nearby for 4 days and ate here twice. Great food at a very reasonable price. The Calamari Biryani was delicious. Friendly bunch of staff who gave scraps to our 8 year old to feed one of the many cats he now wants to adopt. I doubt anyone would leave this place unsatisfied.

The food...ambience and their service is just wow!!⚡ No words can express how satisfied I was after having their seafood combo!! Best service as they ensure their customer is happy in all possible ways!! There is not that much delay after ordering food..and in seafood they prepare it according to the items we select live! ✨✨ Such an amazing food spot to visit in Vasco square.⚡

If you’re staying or walking past the Fort Kochi area, then it is impossible to miss this eatery. There are 3 reasons for that. 1) Inviting and colourful decor. 2) Fragrance of freshly cooked seafood. 3) Live fish selection counter. Kafe D Kochi is an open air restaurant located just 1km from the Fort Kochi beach. The ambience is very chill with some good pop/rock songs adding to the vibe. The best part about this place was the range of items that they offered for both veg and non vegetarians. They not only cover Kerala style food but also international cuisine like Italian. We tried the mango fish curry and that is something not to miss. We were a bit reluctant initially because we visited in the month of November and weren’t sure about the taste as Mango is a seasonal fruit. But they clarified that they put raw mango in it and we took a very good decision to try it. The tangy flavour of raw mango along with the Kerala spices elevated the dish to the next level. Couple it with rice and you’ll have a cracker of a dish for yourself. We also tried the veg pizza with some cool minty beverages because of the humid weather. Nothing to complain about as far as the food is concerned. The only problem was the mosquitoes who were feeding on our legs the whole time, making the dining experience a bit of a struggle (because the restaurant is an open air one). The portion size of all the dishes can easily serve 1.5 people. We ordered 2 fish gravies for 3 people but if you’re moderately hungry, then 1 portion will suffice.

My family and I had a fabulous time at Kafe D Kochi a few weeks back! We ordered the seafood platter and loved the diversity in preparation and flavor of the included items. The tawa fry calamari and fish pollichathu were especially delicious. The highlight of our evening, however, was the music that the staff played. They started playing 2000s pop hits (they fit the vibe of the night!) and the restaurant patrons (especially myself!) had a great time singing along to them - we stayed to enjoy the atmosphere even after our meal. The staff even offered to take requests. Truly memorable evening! Looking forward to visiting next time!
