If you are looking for Tibetan cuisine , Blue poppy is one of the best place in Kolkata. The ambiance is very cosy and peaceful. The interior is beautifully decorated with Buddhist statues, small fountains , bamboo crafts etc . They have two kind of seating arrangements; one the table-chair arrangement and another the table-mat arrangement , in which you can traditionally sit on the floor and enjoy your meal . The Price of food is quite high but it's worth to pay for it as the food is very tasty .I love the momos, phalay , noddle etc which they serve . Best place for spending a good time around Camac st.
Going for a date with a northeastern, this place is the one. I love the place , specially the inner sitting area, the lights and the paintings will make your partner mesmerized.
This is 'the' place for those who loves chinese cuisine at a very affordable price
Their momos dipped in the spicy red sauce are a match made in heaven. We tried the chicken kothey.
Roasted chilli pork was another fulfilling item, along with the mixed fried rice.
The staff was courteous, but the ambiance was a bit dull.
Discovered this place back in college, was literally in our backyard and have been frequenting it ever since. Possibly the best place in town to grab kothay and momo. They are truly a delight. While the skin of the momo is supple, the filling consists of generous amounts of lean pork with moderate fat to make it scrumptious.
Kothays are momos that been pan fried only on the flat side, and they are the best Tibetan starters according to me.
Blue poppy also does a mean phalay which is basically a Tibetan deep fried meat pie.
The very first time we went there, we were recommended by some friends to have their shapta. And boy was that some recommendation. I too would definitely recommend this dish.
Their chili pork similarly ranks very high on this list as well as on the list of best chili porks in kolkata.
The one thing that I am a bit skeptical about is their consistency with rice and noodles. Have been a couple of times when I couldn't enjoy those.
The ambience isn't too much, but for a pocket frinedly place it's quite okay. And coming to that pocket friendliness, Blue poppy is a college goer's paradise.
recently blue poppy has started selling Tibetan pickles of beef, pork, radish and chili oil. Do chekc them out. They are a treat!
The dim light, the cozy atmosphere, the sitting arrangements, the service, the taste of northeast India just makes a perfect blend for ur food experience here. Affordable prices and taste to starve for this place is a must visit
This restaurant serves authentic Nepalese and Chinese cuisine at a reasonable price.
Situated in camac street. Very easy to locate with the help of Google map.
Coming to food we ordered-
~ Chicken wanton soup
~ Chicken pan fried momo
Quality and quantity both are excellent. Awesome taste. Staffs are polite and well-behaved. Will visit again soon.
Blue Poppy will always be the first place to come to my mind every time I have a Pork craving. The chili pork with shreds of bacon in it is best enjoyed with the pan fried momos. They also serve decent amount of fried rice without comprising with the taste.
Chinese Lovers' Paradise....Mouth watering delicious items at really cheap prices...Starting from Momos to Soups to Noodles to other dishes every single food item is perfectly able to satisfy the lust of foodie taste buds!! They have really good chicken and pork preparations but my favorite pick being a Vegetarian will be Veg Kothay, Veg Clear Soup, Mushroom items....!! I had many Veg momos at many places but nothing beats this one!! Really love it... Must Try It out folks!!
This restaurant serves awesome nepalese and chinese cuisines at a cheap price. It is situated in the camac street area. I tried there chicken steamed momos, chicken fried momos, chicken pan fried momos, mixed gravy noodles, schezwan hakka noodles, chilli chicken and garlic pepper chicken. All the items are extremely delicious and at a cheap price. Its a great budget friendly restaurant and the staff's behaviour are also good.
This enchanting restaurant captivates with its intimate floor-seated dining, warm lighting. Rich aromas of delectable cuisine fill the air as plush cushions offer cozy seating. The gentle hum of background music complements the serene atmosphere, creating a perfect haven for an unforgettable dining experience.❤
Loved the atmosphere and their service. Specially like the ground seating arrangements. Somewhat didn't like the chicken wings in chilly butter sauce. It was very buttery and not at all spicy but loved the momo. Will visit again to try some other dishes.
Actual Rating- 4.5/5
This is one of my favourite places to eat at and I have visited it numerous times. I love most of the dishes that I have tried here and would recommend this place to anyone in a heartbeat.
Some of my absolute favourites here are the Pork Kothay, Chicken Wings in Chilli Butter Sauce, and Kimchi Fried Rice. Besides these, the Mutton Momo, Pork Thenthuk Soup, Stir Fried Flat Noodles, and Chilli Pork (loved the flavour in this one but the meat itself was a bit dry and chewy) are pretty delicious as well. However, I'm not a fan of their phaleys or chicken shapta and think they can be given a miss while ordering. The food is reasonably priced and the portion sizes are quite big.
Apart from that, the ambience is warm and welcoming. There's option to seat both on chairs and on the floor, which I love about this place. The staff is extremely polite and courteous and the servics is pretty quick. Please keep in mind that they remain closed from 3:30 pm to 5pm and plan your visit accordingly!
The momos were just melting in the mouth! It was tooo good.
All of the foods we ordered were absolutely perfect in their taste. The ambience was great, very relaxing.
Gonna come back again...
The atmosphere was pretty good and I loved the concept of sitting on the floor and dining. Tried the chicken momo, qewa datsi, and garlic noodles. The food was okay, a bit too oily compared to what I would have preferred.
The actual hyped Sikkim House for it’s Momos is here, “The Blue Poppy Thakali”.
The Sikkim House has another restaurant at the 1st Floor of Sikkim House with the name of “The Gangtok Kitchen” which many might mistake it for the Sikkim House’s Momo.
Now, to begin with.
Being the person where visiting every Chinese Cuisine now and then is a common task.
Gotta says this place offers food in the best quality along with the service.
Too quickly served on table.
Qr menu on table order is available.
Its a great place for momo lovers. The momos are really juicy and soft. one must try their mutton kothey and mutton steamed momo.
Went to this restaurant for lunch, the ambience was very good. We tried Chicken kothey, Egg fried rice and Chicken Shyapta. Food tasted exceptionally good and the portion was decent. Price is very reasonable. Only the service and hospitality could have been a little better. Overall good experience. Would love to visit again.
Amazing Himalayan cuisine. Great pork dishes and more. Steam Momos and Mongolian Pork are must tries
I just like the seating arrangement of this place. They have a shoe rack also.
Food is good, but they don't serve soup with the momos.
