Tip - there's a paan wala right outside, after you have your food here, do have the meetha paan 😍

I ordered one butter naan and one rumali roti and one butter chicken . To my surprise the naan was too soft and the butter chicken was delicious too but yes i thought the salt was little less as i love more quantity of salt in my food. The chicken pieces were soft and juicy and was fresh . Overall its really good . And the delivery person was very fast enough to reach our place .

An 800th review is indeed special and hence, penning the same for a very very special place - Azad Hind, Ballygunge!
This one definitely needs no introduction – you may hardly find a soul in whole of Kolkata who has not had their stuff at least once in their lifetime! It’s obviously the 1st outlet of the entire Azad Hind chain of restaurants in Kolkata – and by far the best!
Have had their stuff since childhood – and have always loved it! Their rolls – especially the veg paneer ones just rock! Their Paneer butter masala, dal makhani, aloo dum as well as their naans rock, not to forget their peas pulao and mix veg pulao!
After a span of more than 10 years, got to have their food – ordered a Dal Makhani as well as a Masala Kulcha for delivery – and was largely impressed that nothing has changed even after such a long period of time! Same taste, same fragrance, same punch! Wow!
Dal makhani was so simple, yet elegant – awesome in taste – went pretty well with the kulcha – which was generously stuffed with potatoes, paneer etc and well cooked! Kulcha was so huge – 1 is sufficient for 2 hungry souls! Dal quantity could have been better, but no regrets!
Nice to see that they did not overpower the dal with excess ghee / oil / chilies – just maintained an opt balance of the same throughout!
Food was prepared in no time – delivered to my place inside half an hour, although, this restaurant is a good 8 kms from my place!
By and large a perfect experience – pocket pinch is high but worth every penny!

I ordered Boneless Chicken Bharta. The item was nice.... I really enjoyed this dish.... But I don't like the environment in this place... So I suggest that you can order from your home.
Food here is just so good! I guess I never had a better butter tadka in my lifetime! Tastes heavenly! It was a miss that we went there on a veg day of the week! Can't wait to try out their no ln veg dishes!

Ok so I ordered food online from AZAD HIND DHABA,,I think it was the best food I ordered till date,, I ordered RUMALI ROTI AND CHICKEN BHARTA,,they gave a pretty good amount of food that me and my friend both could have our lunch from that... Rumali roti was very soft and the chicken was just yum..
So I shall recommend this restaurant to everyone you can go or order food from this restaurant

I ordered Chicken Bharta and Romali Roti from Azad Hind Dhaba today. The quantity of bharta was good. The taste was good too.
I will order other dishes as well.
The food was good but cleaning is out of place and stuffs were not very energetic, though we visited around 1 am at night.
A good dhaba to visit if it's after 12 at night and you are near the area.
Went for a late night dinner, and let me tell you it lives up to its reputation. It was very crowded even at midnight, and we had to wait a while but the food was to die for. The chicken tikka butter masala and the chicken bharta were the star of the show. The kulcha and biryani were not too bad either. Overall I would recommend it to any indian food lovers.
Visited on Sunday evening. Luckily I got an available parking spot. You have to park your car in front of the dhaba. Tried Tandoori chicken, tea and lassi. Good service. All the items being served in the car. Food quality is also nice. Will again visit to try out some other food items.

This is not an upbeat place. Decades old and has a legacy. This is one of their two outlets around this section of the city
Food is amazing. Especially the non veg food. Portion size is good and so is the price.
Has an AC area but only family or couples are allowed if accompanied by female guests.
If you are looking for proper dhaba food then Azad Hind Dhaba is the the place for you. It has varieties of option with reasonable pricing. You might have to wait little extra for your order if the footfall is too much during weekends or festive period for dine-in or if you have a 4 wheeler then you can park and eat in it aswell. Atmosphere is descent enough for just eating !!
We have visited 2nd Oct'2023 Azad Hind Dhaba , Ballygunge Circular road . Indian Dishes Like Dal Makhni , Chicken Bharta , Paneer Butter Masala were delicious . Food - out of 5 Azad Hind should get 4.5 . Only thing need to improve the Interior Decor and Hygienic services . Specially the Toilets / Washroom etc . Car parking is available and staff behaviour are very good.
Back in the pre-zomato, pre-swiggy days, this was THE original place for the late night hungry. A true place that lights up the quiet side of Ballygunge that's half military and half civilian. Excellent kitchen and service of the highest order. It strikes the perfect balance between the authentic Punjabi ambience and the cosmopolitan atmosphere.
