Karco - The Faded Glory !m When I first visited this place I was a kid. I remember that me & my uncle was doing some shopping in Esplanade & while returning he mentioned- ‘Chol Kolkatar ek sera roll er dokane jai’ ! He worked in Esplanade from late 60’s & I always feel thrilled about this part of the city when I hear his experience about food, cinemas, hogg market etc... We took liver roll & chicken egg roll as much I can remember & believe me or not that’s the first time I ever tasted real rolls in my life! Unforgettable experience! What a taste... Time flew & It remained closed for sometimes. In 2000’s , I went there again...I felt there like a whole different place! Menus, recipes & the decor ! I ordered the rolls with an addition of Roasted chicken! I loved the roast but the roll is somehow lost it’s uniqueness... Though we enjoyed the food thoroughly but when I left the place I didn’t carry something this will remain engraved in my memories... It’s still my kaku’s dialogue after our meal that night - ‘Kirey, bolechilam na , er theke bhalo roll kolkatay khub kom ache’ ... & my super satisfying smile 😊!!!

KARCO is a old heritage restaurant of New Market Area.
Visited here many times while went for shopping .
Good sitting arrangement.
Let's come to the food.
Karco is specially famous for its Roll.
One should must try Rolls here.
Double egg chicken roll is my favorite.
And CHICKEN SANDWICH ,I just love it.
Very light and very tasteful.
Also tried fried rice and chilly chicken once.
Worth of money .
Recommended!
After a lot of shopping at dharmatala my tummy was calling for yummy noodles but ohhhh my bf doesn't love Chinese so he chose to have chicken biryani and the quantity is more more more than sufficient for 1 person while I had chicken chowmin
When you are hungry af these kind of roadside restros are always there to chill your stomach. Have decent ambience and separate section for ac. Staffs are good, food qualities are also good.
We have tried egg fried rice and chilli chicken. The fried rice was nice, chilli chicken was a little spicy. Price for quantity is very good. 1plate fried rice is enough for 2person. I was very hungry so forgot to click pictures. Recommended ✅

I have been there number of times. Chicken hot and sour soup is my favourite. It is pocket friendly and they have Two sections- Air-conditioned and other have is non- air conditioned. They serve good Chinese food.
This place is very very reasonable and best with quantity they serve the so much that 3 person cannot complete the plater... In a good note... Cheap and best ❤️
The ambiance was really comfortable and welcoming.
We ordered chicken and mutton biriyani, and mutton korma. The mutton korma was so good
The restaurant is at a pretty fine position, right in the middle of New Market. The food here is quite good, ample amount according to cost. The amount of food is good to satisfy your hunger and taste at very less cost.
There is also an AC section in the restaurant, where service charges apply. Nonetheless, it is good, everyone can go have a try there.
Overall a good experience.
Definitely will visit again.
It is very old joint.
Located new market area.
Food quality and quantity are very good.
Pocket friendly restaurant.
We visit this place many times.
Ordered Chicken fried rice 5/5
Schezwan Chicken 5/5
Chicken biriyani 5/5
This is an outlet that I have been visiting regularly since my childhood and boy.. the nostalgia of this place is just amazing. A little known (probably) restaurant among new generation kids, this is a hidden treasure right on the entrance to New Market (opposite 'The Biriyani House', at the end to exit towards 'Roxy' cinema hall). However this joint for me is special because of only 1 signature dish, which is not available elsewhere (since last few years I have heard is also available in 'Regent') - 'Chicken Afghani' cutlet. This is just an amazing dish and my all time favorite. It is a large size chicken cutlet soaked in a spicy vegetable (seasonal) gravy which gives it a unique taste an flavor. Just try it once with Rumali Roti or even sliced bread (at home). Off late, the size has reduced a bit, may be due to cost pressures. Also another unique experience here was 'Live' English music band performance, especially during Christmas, Puja and New Year's eve.. not sure if this is maintained nowadays. Other dishes to try - Special Mughlai, Fish Fry (real bhetki is used), Chicken Kabiraji cutlet, Special Egg chicken Roll. I have never tried anything else here.
My Best choice for hanging out with friends and family in New Market area. Have A.C. and Non A.C. both. Varieties of dishes available. Best is Roasted Chicken.
It's no fancy place. But reasonable price for good food. And the amount was sufficient. All that you can expect from an eatery running for so many years
It's @friedrice is the most amazing thing you'll taste ever💗 It's situated in the heart of new market and serves the tastiest yet pocket friendly meals available, I've had multiple meals here including fried rice, chowmein, veg corn soup, chilli paneer, chilli chicken and mughlai paratha, everything was amazing and worth traveling that far to eat but the show stealer is the egg fried rice for me. I would totally suggest people to visit this place for a hearty meal.
Not like earlier days. Food quality deteriorated. Probably ownership has changed.
we ordered two chicken biriyanis and a chicken butter masala. the food was good and the quantity was also good. sitting arrangement wise they have both ac and non ac portions.
the place is not too trendy but it has some heritage charm to it. staffs are good and polite
now come to the main part. the food was good as we expected. At Esplanade i guess this the place where you should go to grab biriyani instead of going to aminiya.
Its 85 year old restaurant in New Market. Price is very much pocket friendly, with a good ambience.
Has both AC and non-AC seatings. Reasonably priced. Bottled water, chargeable. No free water.
Very testy food
Very good quality
I am impressed
It's a awesome place,foods are also delicious,must try the karco Thai special❤️❤️dish
This is truly a heritage restaurant. There is a wide choice of menu options. Surprisingly we found the non AC section so cool and tranquil that we sat there instead of the AC room. #LetsGuide
