We arranged small family birthday party here. Food and Services were well appreciated by all the guests. Found best for family gathering of 30-40ppl. North India food was at its best. Our preference includes Paneer Tikka , Crispy Baby corn, Veg Au Gratin, Veg Biryani (best), Kashmiri Aloo dum, Paneer do plaza. Highly recommended

A nearby snacks bar my home!! Food is good and the quality is good!! I have ordered food from here a lot! It's pretty decent! So you can try out this place for sure!

Very decent place at the price....north indian food is really tasty, service is bit slow...the ambience isnt gr8 , old style resturant...but overall a decent package!

I have never come across a Vegetarian restaurant with such a good Chinese food and  South Indian food. We are veggies. I am very fond of the Anand and Madras restaurant for their great dosas. My wife is very fond of veg Chinese food available in CIT cafe and Chinatown. Here you get the best of both the worlds !

Continental Sizzler @ Drive In Snacks Bar 🙂

Recently, a foodie girlfriend and myself, relished these piping hot Continental Sizzlers comprising of the following items -

Covered with a spicy sauce, the Cottage Cheese Steak was kind of a sandwich of two cubes of cottage cheese stuffed with a potato-beetroot concoction.

It was not a sizzler for the connoisseurs, but good enough as a continental platter and enough in quantity. In fact, paired with a beverage, two such sizzlers would suffice three people.

Given the quantity of the sizzlers, we took around an hour to wipe off our individual plates. The contents were hot till the end!

Vegetarian Appetizers @ Preach, Sec V, Salt Lake ☺

Yesterday late evening, Preach, the bar-grill-lounge at Sec V, Salt Lake, was the pulsating venue for one of the pre-events of Top Food Blogger Awards.

It was an evening of cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. The vegetarian options present therein were -

- Hara Bhara Kabab: The circular spinach, potato and peas patties were well cooked, soft and tasted nice.

They appeared greener than what they are appearing in the pic, which was clicked in a dim lit ambiance, sans any technical gizmo.

- Stuffed Potato With Paneer: Made of long potatoes, which were uniformly shaped into vertically slit half cylinders, the appetizer had crispy potato exterior filled with soft and chewy cottage cheese stuffing. They were cooked well and tasted quite good.

The accompanying Green Chutney had a nice mint flavor. It also tasted good.

2016:

‘Drive In’ is a forty plus seater ,old style restaurant located on the ground floor of ‘Lake District’ complex near Swabhumi. It’s a rectangular shaped small restaurant with old school décor elements, like – chequered tablecloths, plastic centerpiece flowers, stain glass paintings on wall etc. Facing the roadside, it has a separate entry gate, other than those of the aforesaid complex. Loo facility is available. In fact, it falls before you enter the restaurant. A small parking area is also available.

In the last few years, around thousand families (mostly vegetarians) have found abode in both small and big housing complexes, that have mushroomed in this area. Thus, having such a pure veg eatery within walking distance is quite a boon to them.

This place is also available for party purposes and they also undertake catering service. Free home delivery is provided till 2 kms.

We ordered - Idly, Masala Dosa, Mysore Masala Dosa, Chola Bhatura, Veg Biryani and Cold Coffee. Sambhar was average, otherwise the south Indian fare was good. However, their Mysore Masala Dosa seemed same as their normal Masala Dosa, and the serving staff was unable to explain the error. Veg Biryani included – a naan, peas pulao, four kebabs, sauted vegetables and a paneer based sabji. Kebabs were really good and they also provided green chutney upon askance. Chola in Chola Bhatura was pretty oily, but ok in taste. Cold Coffee was unexpectedly tasty and soothing.

Staff is humble and nice. At the entrance, there is a big food poster, which seriously needs to be replaced with something beautiful and appetizing.
