Chicken Rashmi masala -🍖🍖🍖 which is very delicious me and my friends just mesmarized with this dish. Next day we just went there for this dish
Chicken Kadai -🍲🍲🍲 pretty good
Butter nun-🌯🌯 I must say the nun is properly cooked.
Chicken kebab -🍗🍗🍗🍗 I frgt the name of the kebab..
As per I remember the food and overall every thing was great.

This was the 3rd time we went. Just proves how much we have enjoyed the cuisine..the dal samosa ...chicken reshmi kebabs n paneer kebabs have always been a hit...not to forget the chicken salli kebabs..starters started very well each time that we have gone there.
Our dinner order of assorted bread has been awesome..dal chawal palidu is out of this world. Coriander chicken and meithi matar makes very good accompaniment.
Very appetizing..hospitality has always been praise worthy and the ambience very pleasing/homely.
Some places are meant for revisits. SALT truly is one of them. GOOD LUCK TO SALT TEAM 👍
Situated in the bylanes of Southern Avenue opposite to Somnath Mullick Hall.. Kolkata's till now only restaurant that serves Bohri Cuisine.. they have kept the decor absolutely simple and let the food and their courteous behaviour do all the talking.. whether you take their thali or induvidual dishes they explain all their dishes and the way to go about it with utmost patience.. right from their burhani to their halwa every dish is unique and true to their culture... A must visit for all the foodies..

It's was a get together cum food meet with some friends in the Salt Restaurant. The Salt is near Najrul Mancha, nearest metro station is Kalighat, take a auto/bus to Hindustan Park ... walk 2 min. The place is lightly decorated with white and green, very soothing for eyes. Ambience just Ok. Maximum capacity is 30 heads
We opted for their speciality Bohri thaal. We had been explained about Gujarati Bohri Muslim culinary culture and their their food habits. The tradition is ... whole family and friends gather together, seat in the ground circling a big single thaal, covering heads and share their food with each other. Like the same way they severed the food in single big thaal, though it was not possible to put total quantity of 14 members in a single thaal but they put up a nice thaal to present which I really like.

Chicken Salli Kebab 5/5 :- The best starter. Juicy succulent chicken kebab covered with a crispy crust is a must try.
Corn Salad 4/5 :- Its just corn salad, nothing to describe. 😂
Dal Samosa 3.5/5 :- It's actually samosa or singara with lentil feelings. Nice and crispy good veg starter.
Tandoori Rooti 2.5/5 :- I have to admit I have tasted far better tandoori rooti. It felt like just normal rooti.
Coriander Chicken 3.5/5 :- Nice light coriander gravy was a good dish.
Egyptian Mutton 1.5/5 :- May be I don't have such refine taste bud but this dish really disappointed me. Boneless mutton in cashew based thick gravy was not much appealing. It felt lack of seasoning and dull taste. I had to use salt and lemon to make it suitable according to my palate.
Chicken Biryani 4/5 :- Perfect Kolkata style chicken biryani... after that mutton dish, it tasted like heaven. Really loved a lot , chicken pieces could have been better.
Falooda 5/5 :- What a refreshing cooler. Just try , it will satisfy you from your core.
Date Halwa 3.5/5 :- Nice dessert.
Just a suggestion to the management, when you are distributing from the thaal then you have to look after each and individual quantity. In our table we had only 2 pieces of mutton and waiting to have more whereas in another table half plate of mutton wasted and left behind. That's not equal servicing, I think. Except that everything was awesome. We all gifted a 10% discount coupon for next visit. Thanks to the #Team_Salt ☺

Been there recently to have a taste of the Bohri Cuisine. It was indeed a wonderful experience where I got to know about a new culture.
The platter that was:
Dal Samosa - sinfully crispy with a robust inner filling
Chilli Salli Kebab - juicy and succulent
Corn Salad - healthy and wholesome
Chicken in Coriander Gravy - flavourful gravy with soft boneless chicken pieces
Egyptian Mutton - relatively milder on the palate, succulent mutton in a cashewnut gravy base
Chicken Biryani - typical Kolkata Biryani. And it indeed can be termed as one of the best that I ever had in the city! I will definitely be back for the Mutton variety and the Bohri variety on some later date
Falooda - delightfully delicious, with basil seeds added to the mix
Date Halwa - a delightful creation with a base of dates, besan, ghee and cashew. A must try!
I especially loved the crispy Dal Samosa, the juicy Chicken Salli Kebab, the flavourous Coriander Chicken, the Biryani (though not the Bohri variety) and lastly the desserts, Falooda and the unique yet superb Date Halwa.
I will definitely be back for more! Kudos to Team Salt - Keyatala..
This place is a hidden gem.
Environment: Just superb, away from all the hustle bustle of the city. Ambiance is very calm and sweetly decorated.
Staff: Very courteous, nice and constantly asking about how's the food and if needed anything.
Food: EXCLUSIVE. Each and every preparation are totally different from other restros. It seems every food items there are made with extra love and care.
We ordered Malai Salli Kebab, Kabuli Naan and Coriander Chicken. But they tasted totally different from usually what we tasted especially the Coriander Chicken
Must Try: BOHRI CUISINE
*If possible try to increase the number of staffs a little more because if there's a rush, they take more time to serve than usuals. Nothing more to complain.
Just keep the menu they are since they are just awesome 💗

Food here is really good especially the chicken tandoori. Only suggestion I have is that when serving regular chicken biryani then please increase the portion of rice.
