This tiny eatery tucked into the residential lane of Dhakuria is famous for it's egg rolls. What makes it indispensable is the fillings. They are probably the only place in Kolkata that adds specially garnished potato to the egg roll. Once you get a taste of it, you'll keep coming back like me! To top that, the prices are extremely economical and there's very quick service. It is almost like an open kitchen because we can literally watch the chefs prepare our orders from the waiting place. This quaint little known fast food shop is a gem. Price of Egg Roll: Rs. 25/- only!
Located near 2 major rehearsal pads for musicians in South Calcutta this a joint where you must have eaten if you came to jam at one or the other. I grew up in this neighbourhood and the place holds a place in my memories not because of their overall impressive repertoire but because of snippets within it. There's no seating it's a strict takeaway.
Take for instance the roll. This is the only place where I'd rather eat the egg roll over the chicken, the put in a spicy potato filling with it with a chunk of masala I don't know what exactly, which gives it a very different taste to anything, try it without ketchup.
Of all the other items here, the mutton tarka, chicken Kasha, chicken bharta are decent if not quite good for the price.
But one thing that constantly shines in this place is the rumali roti. Bapi da, the person who makes it has some skill, the roti has the best consistency you'll find in a rumali amongst a lot of places, it's dirt cheap and there's a lot of things you can enjoy it with. Wrap up your dirt cheap meal with a glass of soda on the soda shop opposite to this one.

As this snacks outlet is close to my home,i have been here innumerable number of times. As the sale is always high, sometimes yiu have to wait in the queue, but the service is more or less quick.Their speciality lies in the rolls, chilly chicken,parathas..
But,I can assure you,if you intake their roll,e.g the chicken roll, you need to to quite a bit of excercise to empty your stomach. It's huge!As the price is within range, this food joint is recommended. But,they have no sitting arrangement, thats a bit troublesome sometimes, but that can be adjusted for the food!☺️
Overall a good place for pocket friendly meals. It is just beside my house so I order on a regular basis and everytime I am satisfied with the food.
The street food 'Sultan' of Dhakuria.... Period. The rolls are their USP. Other than the rolls, the cutlets and the Kabirajis are excellent too. The chinese and mughlai dishes they serve are just what we street food lovers have been programmed to expect from such a place. And simply put, they do live upto the expectations. Another good thing is that very little oil goes into the making of their snack items and definitely you will not be needing an antacid. They do have a huge rush, so rest assured they do serve freshly made stuff cause they run out of stock in the end. So, no question of stale items. Hygiene is one aspect that they can improve upon. Prices are a steal. If you have great expectations, you might be in for a not so pleasant surprise, but street food lovers keep it simple... Don't they??

I have been having food from this small takeaway joint from 1999 I guess, so you can imagine how much I've liked my experience. Not only me, Lokenath (as it is locally called) always has a que in front of it, which still proves that they have maintained their quality. A favorite among every Dhakuria resident, the place serves both North Indian and "calcutta" chinese. I personally prefer their romali roti and chicken chap, which they actually serve in an earthen pot even for take away.
Want a quick bite but also want taste, good price, and quantity? Then this one is for you. They are mainly famous for their rolls and they have a variety of those. They also make the good Kolkata street food style chowmin. Their chops, fries, and finger foods are quite good. Funny thing is, you can eat a whole lot of those without reaching for antacids. So, obviously they use good quality cooking oils and don't sneak in stale and rotten one left over from the day before into the fresh ones. They make such big rolls that one will fill you up for the night. And they are tasty.
It is just next to my house....the famous here is Rumali Roti and many other stuffs...most of the time it is crowded and you have to wait a long que ...!!!
One of thousands silent cavalryman of Kolkata street food kingdom.
I have tried almost each and every dish they serve and i got everytime what I expected. If someone is searching for delicacy, it is definitely not the place.
Rolls are their USP.
Chaap is not so good.
Here the chicken roll is great!.... A nice fast food outlet for take aways .Located near Dhakuria mouchak sweet shop. It's a pocket-friendly outlet....
