Had been told about this for a while as one of the best places in Mumbai  for local favorites. Since it's not a big fine-dine, couldn't really plan to be here. Happened to be in the vicinity of the area and hence, headed here for a quick one. So glad we did!

Ambiance - 3/5

The overall ambiance is tad better than a typical udipi restaurant (the AC section). It's clean, has open air kitchen and the tables are all wood, no cushions there. Function over form is the mantra. You come here for a quick, lip-smacking meal, not for the experience or a lazy afternoon.

Food/Drink - 5/5

Star attraction and didn't disappoint. It's not just traditional Gujarati stuff but they've added twists to many. For instance, dabeli dhokla is worth a try - not as good as the original dabeli, but the qurikniess factor is nice always. Loved the thalipeeth, besan sabzi and our group reordered the pooran poli. Portions are just right for you to try multiple dishes. The menu is not super vast, hence leaving you satisfied at trying fair bit of it. The malpua was not classy though - supposed to be brown, came out nearly white.

They also do fresh juices which is great.

Service - 3.5/5

In a place such as this, one usually expects the service to be ultra efficient which it wasn't. There were multiple folks for taking orders but at several times, all of them were doing something in the kitchen. This, when there is a separate staff to deliver and clear the plates was baffling. The captain would try to pitch in during such cases, but then, would handover inefficiently to the main waiter. Not too bad, but could definitely be much better.

Cost: Approx 500 per person.

Another famous spot for Gujarati food lovers. The famous Tardeo restaurant is now in Nariman Point too. I simply love their Panki with Green Chutney as well as inhouse hand churned Roasted Almond Ice Cream. If you are a morning person who waked up early, then definitely go to one of their branches and take Jalebi Fafda parcel for yourself to relish for the breakfast.

If you are a fan of swati snacks at tardeo but tired of waiting time, do come out to this outlet as it has the same taste and menu and there is very less waiting time as the seating capacity is huge. Do come out here to try gujarati food , some also with a modern twist. The panki is very good out here. Some other of my favourites are fada ni khichdi, paneer lifafa, paneer chilla and bajri paneer pizza.

We visited again and had the following:
Panki chutney
Bhel
Dahi batata puri
Sev puri
Cheese mex ( highly recommended)
Steam idli
Sada dosa

Every item was perfect and service is good. Very hyeginic too

Gujarati's favourite spot!

Panki & chutney at Swati.. one of the popular item loved by everyone.. The food here reaches directly to your heart. To be more precise about Panki, its Rice Flour Pancake (Panki) Gujarati dish cooked between banana leaves and It is served with green chilly and coriander chutney.

We also loved the Falafal here.

Really enjoyed the Kala-Khatta Gola.

Their home-made Roasted Almond lce cream is amazing !!

They also serve very nice Jalebi along with gathiya, papaya and mirchi every Sunday morning

The simplicity and the authenticity of Gujarati street food here will make sure you leave with a smile on your face!

Kand Tikki Chat 10/10 roasted something different go for it .

I just gave a rating of 4 because of the prices for such food where your belly doesn't gets full with these light bites.

One of my favorite places to visit, which we come to again and again. Fast service, great staff and a variety of options to try! From yummy chaat to Mumbai classics like Vada pav, dabeli and misal, they also have gujarati dishes worth to try. The pankis (both classic and pudina) and filter coffee ice cream is my favourite. They also have Jain options, a special menu which changes seasonally. A classic restaurant and a must visit place!

10/10 taste, being from South India, I had not heard the names of most dishes. Was pleasantly surprised by every dish, tasted fantastic. High rating absolutely justified. Stomach was full but the heart wasn't. Would highly recommend for lunch/dinner. Don't be fooled by the "snacks" bit, it's a full meal.

Never again will I visit Mumbai without paying my respects here first. Unbelievable sweet, savoury and lipsmacking Gujju inspired, and other Indian must-haves, and desserts. Panki, pau bhaji, sev puri, dahi chaat, dosa and filter coffee ice cream, they had to roll me out of here. Mainly, their slick hipster canteen wood and aluminium design ought to be rolled out across India. Do not miss.

Fell in love with this place on my first visit, and couldn't get enough of it! Tried panki, podi idli, pani puri, satpadi roti, gatta curry, sitaphal icecream, and some other samples that the server kindly offered; and each item was freshly made and lovely.

It's apparently a famous spot that I discovered only today. Had podi idli and bhelpuri along with South Indian Coffee which was served with some banana chips on the side (the first time I encountered this and it's a v v thoughtful combo) The food was good. Will try the famous panki chutney the next time I get to visit this place !

A Flavorful Delight in the upscale business district and tourist area! I recently visited this gem for a delightful experience with authentic Gujarati and Marwadi flavors. Conveniently located near the business district and Nariman Point, it's a go-to spot for a culinary adventure. Parking can be a challenge with open paid street parking, and I'm uncertain about valet services. The opening hours are from 12 noon to 10.45 pm, with the last order at 10.30 pm. Be prepared for a potential wait during weekend and weekday lunches, but the efficient service and ample seating mitigate the delay. The ambience, adorned with warm white lighting, is both simple and elegant. The open kitchen adds a unique touch, and the fast service, coupled with knowledgeable servers, enhances the overall dining experience. The common washroom is well-maintained. The all-vegetarian menu boasts delectable Gujarati and Marwadi dishes with decent portion sizes. The servers' recommendations are spot-on, and accompaniments are generously refilled, although extra charges may apply. Availability of menu items is sometimes limited, as popular choices sell out quickly. I highly recommend trying their sugarcane juice and savoring specialties like panki chutney, dabeli, and dal dhokli. Everything is prepared fresh, bursting with flavor—a must-visit for any food enthusiast!

My husband and I wanted to eat classic Mumbai street food like Pav Bhaji, Vada Pav, Dabeli, etc., our hotel recommended this restaurant and I’m pretty satisfied! If you are looking for a clean and good place to try Mumbai delicacies, this is the place to go! We decided to try all three of the above snacks, the ones that stood out are the Pav Bhaji and the Dabeli 🤩. Our waiter was so friendly too! He even gave us a complimentary scoop of coffee ice cream! Also, very good! One note, the prices are pretty steep but for cleanliness, it’s worth it!

Step into Swati Snacks, the Bombay legend where the culinary journey transcends time and extravagance. Nestled in the heart of the city, this gem exudes comfort without a hint of pretension. As you approach, you're greeted by a sight that both thrills and terrifies—a long line of eager food enthusiasts, all vying for a taste of Gujrati magic. At the top, reigning supreme, is the ethereal panki—a handkerchief-thin pancake-like creation, lovingly pressed between banana leaves and grilled to perfection on a sizzling tawa. With each bite, you're transported to a land where culinary artistry meets heritage. Their specials has Dabeli & Usal which were both great. Fun fact: Swati Snacks is not just any restaurant; it's a tale of culinary ambition that started in the cozy confines of a home kitchen. And now, it's earned its rightful place in the Essence of Asia collection by Asia's 50 Best Restaurants. Talk about a true underdog story that sends tingles down your spine! There's more—delightful street food fantasies come to life here, from the elixir of sugarcane juice to the enchanting ice golas. At Swati Snacks, these treasures are elevated to new heights, sprinkled with extra doses of hygiene and served with a side of zero digestive rumblings. Oh, and let's not forget the real stars—the incredible staff! They make sure you don't just eat but experience every morsel of goodness. So, if you're ready to embark on an adventure of flavors, where history, tradition, and culinary passion unite, head to Swati Snacks. But beware, once you've tasted the wonders here, you might find yourself back in that long line, hungry for more of their legendary creations.

Swati snacks is a popular vegetarian Gujarati restaurant. The restaurant is extremely popular amongst the Gujarati families as it serves much beyond the standard dhokla,Patra etc. We waited for a good 20-25 mins before we could get a spot. Since they don't take telephone reservations you have to queue up but I definitely felt, it was worth the wait. They have two dine-in options in Bombay (Tardeo and Nariman point). They have recently started a dark kitchen in Santa Cruz/Juhu which delivers to most of western mumbai areas. Panki is an extremely popular vegetarian snack which is delicious and light. The ones that we ordered and really enjoyed were Panki, Sev puri, masala pao, satpati roti n gatte ki sabji, baked khichdi. They don't serve any kind of soda based drinks so we enjoyed a sweet lime. Decor wise, extremely clean, basic place with steel tables and comfortable chairs. You can partly view the kitchen. The kitchen also has a black and white picture of an older lady. The picture looks beautiful with a fresh flower. Service is prompt and polite. This is a must visit place for anyone who wants to try something new in vegetarian cuisine.

A must try place in Mumbai for sure. Panki Chatni - amazing, very thin and nicely done rice pancakes served with a great green chutney Moong Dal Chila - amazingly well done, they made it crisp on request. It was really the highlight dish for us Dal Dhokli - was good but very sweet and loaded with tamarind Coconut punch - coconut water and malai blended into this drink l, was so refreshing and nice that we reordered it. Sugarcane Juice - amazing Pani Puri - nice Satpadi Roti and Gatte ki Sabzi - I thought the satpadi roti was a bit oily but was otherwise it was good, gatte ki sabzi was very nicely done and tasty Courteous and friendly staff. Can get crowded at peak times. Limited seating capacity at this location
