Restaurant known for sea food.
We ordered:-
Prawns excellenssea:- just so yumm! Couldn’t resist yourself from not wanting more.

Butter chicken:- on an average a decent butter chicken 🍗

Surmai tawa fry masala:- dissatisfied, as the gravy wasn’t at all up to the mark. Tasted v weird.
Fish quality was good, gravy wasn’t.

Neer dosa:- fluffly soft and amazing

Quantity:- 4/5
Quality:- 5/5
Pricing:- 3/5

A bit on costlier side.
Overall a decent experience.

Located in Fort this place serves the best seafood
The ambience is nice with dim lights and the food is worth the cost.
We ordered
Pomfret tawa fry-₹1300
The fish was nice and juicy with a perfect blend of their typical fish masala
Prawns gassi-₹380
with a slight taste of coconut and prawn curry it was yum and taste better with neer dosa
Prawn dum biryani-₹400
Fish dum biryani-₹400
The biryanis were loaded with spices less oil and the quantity is sufficient for 2 persons
Overall a must try if you crave for seafood.

This cool seafood restaurant was my Mumbaikar cousin's recommendation. There were live crab and a great assortment of seafood here.

We chose one of the large crabs, and were asked to try it cooked in an Indian coastal gravy, and I feel butter garlic would have suited it better. Our shrimp dish was amazed and served in ExcellenSEA sauce I'd definitely recommend it. Neer dosa was an interesting accompaniment, kind of like a really soft and thin dosa.

We were here for the Bombil Fry, and it did not disappoint! This was our first time trying this fish, one side recommending that fish while others discouraged us from trying it. We actually liked it! The flesh of Bombil is extremely delicate, so kudos to the chef's for frying them in a sturdy breading to keep them in one piece. The fish is not 'fishy' at all, or and not strong tasting, there were a briny flavour to the fish that's delectable and fresh-tasting.

We also had the house-specialty prawns, which was nice. I also ordered Vegetable Dum Briyani, which was quite good and I was happy with the amount of vegetables in it!

My friend, who aren't a fan of seafood and further scared off by the negative opinions on Bombil, ordered Chicken Tikka Masala and Garlic Naan.

Chicken Tikka Masala was very nice and juicy, with a delicately nutty and lemon-y marinade. The Garlic Naan, however, was overcooked to a hard cracker which made eating somewhat difficult.

We ended up sharing our dishes, including the Bombil Fry (Taste-tested by yours truly first). We were also provided with warm lemon water in small metal bowls to wipe out hands clean after the meal (and the ubiquitous aniseed and sugar palate cleanser).

We were seated on the second floor, which is set up like a lounge bar, with the dimly lit rooms and leather chairs and sofas. It's not a setup aimed for younger diners, but the food is good and the service is quite thorough.

As the name suggests, specialising in sea food.
Fish, prawns, squid and u name it.
The freshest from the sea.
In fact they show u the fish size and catch it from their tank...
Not pocket friendly though for the budget foodies

Best sea food restaurant in mumbai. Have been coming to this place since ages. Its been renovated and looks good. I prefer to go on a Saturday night because its less crowded and the food is amazing. The seafood is fresh and there are lot of variety they make the dishes in. Price wise its not that expensive like other seafood hotels.

Ambience : 3.5/5. The ambience is kind of ok. Nothing great. The first floor needs to be well lit.

Service: 3/5. Service was really really slow. Maybe they were short on staff but everything was taking more than twice the time.

Food: 4/5. The only good thing in the entire experience. Their surmai fry is brilliant. We ordered 3 slices. Nothing beats this.
Prawns in excellensea sauce was a lovely dish as well. It was a semi dry dish with a thick green sauce. Definitely give this a try.
Their chicken starters were strictly average. Won't recommend this.
Chicken sukka dish in main course is worth a try.
Neer dosas were half the size of the actual neer dosas that you get in other places which was a disappointment.
Tried their sol curry as well. Was a refreshing drink.

Worth visiting this place for their seafood :)

One of the best sea food restaurants around. The fish curry taste has not changed over so many years. Very highly recommended for sea food lovers. The prices though have become a tad too high making it expensive for customer like me.

Went on Sunday late night....dimly lit interiors done up in black...head height is a little worry but warm and courteous staff and fresh and spicy seafood makes up for the inconvenience....ordered bombay duck which was fresh and crispy....rawas masala Fry was perfectly done and masala was rightly engulfed with the meat and accompanied with neer dosa with the perfect texture and softness...ordered sol kadi which was a little spicy harsh on the throat but can be corrected though...overall a good gastronomic experience

Great place to come and enjoy seafood. They have live crabs to choose from. Even if you are not a seafood person they have some really good options in chicken and mutton. The service is a bit slow but the food is worth the wait. I'm saying this as we were the only ones in the restaurant yet it took pretty long for our order to come. Other than that everything was perfect. Everything we ordered was excellent even the variety or pickles laid on the table were amazing. There is a really clean and well kept washroom. Valet parking is also available.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the renowned restaurant Bharat Xcellensea at Fort 😍after years of longing for seafood. The ambiance was absolutely incredible and full of energy. I had a wonderful interaction with Mr. Denzil, the Restaurant Manager, who assisted us in selecting our menu. We enjoyed a fantastic appetizer of Prawns with Raw Mango and Surmai Masala Fry and of course the main course we had succulent pieces of chicken sukkah with neer dosa combination.. it was just cooked to perfection🥰 The staff, including Mr. Vrushab and Sheik🫡, were incredibly helpful, always smiling and extending warm gestures. Additionally, the housekeeping staff Ms. Reshma and the welcoming smile at the door from Mr. Luckwinder Singh contributed to the overall great experience.😊 A big thank you to the team for your outstanding hospitality that made our evening truly special. We will definitely be back again soon!❤️❤️❤️

Mumbai’s iconic seafood restaurant Bharat Excellensea is located on the ground floor of Bharat House at Fort and is close to CSTM. Anyone with a penchant for seafood in Mumbai will remember BE for excellent fresh seafood at a price that doesn’t dent hole in your pocket. They serve culinary delights from Kerala, Tamilnadu and even Thailand. To ensure authenticity and freshness seafood is sourced everyday, spices are brought from Kerala and coconut are ferried from Mangluru. The place is bright and cheerful with French windows, beige facade, natural fabrics, muted tones, comfortable seating arrangements and floor to ceiling arched windows. A flight of stairs takes you to the upper deck with a large cobalt blue map of Aapli Mumbai. The stairs takes you to the mezzanine alcove with ornamental fish tanks for decor. The ambiance is deeply inspired by the Mumbai’s sea connections. The Outrageously delicious food cooking spikes endorphins. We tried some of their iconic dishes and were extremely impressed with their preparations & presentations. ♦️Virgin Pinacolada ♦️Strawberry Delight ♦️Crab meat soup ♦️Excellensea prawns tandoori ♦️Rawas masala Fry ♦️Mutton Pepper ♦️Prawns Gassi with Neer Dosa We ended our meals with delightful and refreshing desserts. Each dessert was unique in taste and felt like a reassuring hug. Each can be crowd puller on their own. Desserts tried: ♦️Tub Tim Grob ♦️Elaneer Payasum The services are quick, staff is courteous and proudly offers the best to suit your interests. We were supported by Mr. Nawaz, who was highly professional and respectful. A must visit place to connect to our roots when in Mumbai with authentic preparations, flavors, and efficient services.

One of the finest places if you are looking to enjoy some delicious range of seafood. The freshest catch can be experienced here. I personally love the food over here. The place has been revamped all over and the menu is designed by none other than Chef Ananda Solomon. Recently dropped in by for dinner and the we tried couple of things and it was just fabulous. Loved the ambiance, its simple & sober. The manager Ryan is such a gentleman who made sure we had a great experience and recommended us the best of best. Even the service didn’t lack anywhere behind. The portions are simply sufficient between 2 people and worth the price. What we tried and loved *Tandoori Prawns *Tawa Surmai Fry in Mangalorean Style *Crab Soup *Tisryanche Sukhe *Crab Gassi with Neer Dosa & Appam Cant wait to visit again with my family

Excellensea is back with a new brand name Bharat Excellensea. Vibe is good post the renovation. Food was reasonably good , Though could have been better if there were no mis-communication in the explanation for the crab preparation. We tried this fish called Lady fish for the 1s t time , and it was really tasty and the ghee roast preparation was tasteful. Crab we hoped could have been in its og form for us to gorge , it was de-shelled though good but the meat got lost in the gravy . Lobster thermidore was fantastic! And the best was the sweet dish very tongue twisting name it had , but it was a concoction of coconut water with water chestnuts , It was sinful!

Had dinner at Excellensea which is now run by Ananda Solomon of Thai Pavilion fame. Crab festival going on. Started with the prawn cocktail and mango prawns followed by Baked crab, Singapore crab, tandoori crab and crab in butter garlic. Main course butter chicken and mutton sukka. The crab tandoori and Singapore crab were excellent and the baked crab and butter garlic were not as good as the first two. Mutton sukka was delicious and tender. Service with a smile and a very relaxed ambience. Meal for four was approximately 13000.

Visiting Bharat Excellensea after 15 years, I was glad to meet up with the expectations. The restaurant is filled with great food and is known for their crab. Our waiter Sudhir was extremely hospitable and suggested great dishes from the menu. The Malabar crab and coconut sweet dish is a must try. Overall I had a great meal at Bharat Execellensea restaurant.
