One of the best vegetarian hotel in Pondicherry though the price is bit costly it values the for the taste u will enjoy in each and every food served. Especially their chutneys are too good and unique Taste.
One of the best south indian restaurant in Pondy a must visit place
Staff is friendly and ambience is neat and clean. We ordered Mysore bonda which is amazing a must visit place
Great breakfast options. Ghee idli is a must must try. Pocket friendly, polite staff, great location. Recommended.
Best dosa I've ever tasted. Choose any dosa from their menu and you will.not be disappointed. The South Indian thali meal is also a catch. The ambience is that of a fast food joint and they are really fast no matter how crowded the restaurant. The staff is courteous and willing to help you with your order.
We were sight seeing in Pondicherry when we asked our driver a good place to try veg food. Instantaneously the driver said we shud try Surguru.
The driver also informed us to reach there a lil early becos once it gets crowded then there is a lot of waiting time.
The ambience clean and buzzing
The staff courteous and attentive
We ordered the paneer makhani, the zaffrani veggie korma rotis and fresh lime soda.
Zero points for presentation but everything was delicious.
For the south indian touch we tried the rava dosa which was crispy and yummy, shud i say the best i must have ever tried.
At Surguru hoja shuru.
When your here try their french onion soup and their choke bhature. In south Indian foods their dosa and meals are very famous. I always have their vanilla milkshake which i personally crave for.
It has one of the best ambiences amongst the restaurants there. Its a complete package! But on weekends its a long wait due to the rush.
The food is good and the wait time was crazy. 😀 But I feel it's worth the wait when the food arrived. Sure would like to revisit during my next visit to Pondi. Hope I get the table soon 😛
This was the place which made me not miss the home food when I was in Pondicherry.
Literally went here everyday for lunch while I was here.
Tried their meals, veg Biryani, aloo paratha, paneer Pulav. All the dishes were excellent.
For breakfast was there only once and had their idly, vada which was a little disappointing.
Overall if you are looking for a place to have pure veg food while in Pondicherry don't look further.
This place is great for South Indian food. Very hygienic and courteous staff.
They are usually open in the mornings and is a good option for breakfast.
If you want to grab some authentic South Indian food, definitely try this place.
I knew I had to try this place, even before I set foot in the beautiful town of Puducherry. I wish they open in other places in the country too. Blind choose anything from the menu and I am sure it cannot go wrong. The weekend mornings are usually a bit too busy but I guess that is for a reason!
Nice restaurant for having food. Not so hard on pocket though having a nice ambience. The place might get busier but I happen to go around 4 pm so it was all quiet. But nice service and the food was tasty too. One good thing I liked is that they serve hot water to drink.
A nice location for vegetarians. Food has good taste. order each item separately; if not, they will deliver everything at once. When you order coffee and a dosa, they serve at the same time.
A great pure vegetarian restaurant in Pondicherry on the main street just opposite to the church. The food here was really good. We ordered a Veg Thali, green salad and Butter Masala Dosa and we were highly satisfied by the quality of the food served here by the restaurant. Everything was very well managed and disciplined even though it was very crowded.
The best place for South Indian breakfast options in whole Pondicherry. The place is very hygienic and well maintained. The food is delicious , less oily and high quality food. We tried iddiyappam, Pongal with Wada , Poori , Masala Dosa and ended the meal in South Indian style with a coffee. Pricing wise it’s very reasonable, it costed around Rs 500\- for 3 people . I would recommend this place every person who wants to have authentic South Indian breakfast. You must have breakfast at least once during Pondicherry trip . Highly recommended place.
If you looking for good vegetarian food while in Pondicherry, Surguru is a place you can't miss. The food is absolutely delicious with homely ambience and excellent service. Highly recommended.
Probably the best Veg Restaurant in Pondicherry. Being a regular customer for years, this restaurant never fails to impress me with their taste. We ordered Tandoori Idly which was fab.
IMO, a must try🧑🍳🥢
Took 5-10 min waiting cause of rush but eventually got a good seat. We ordered ghee roast and onion uttapam and coffee. Go before the rush starts in as they were out of masala for masala dosa by the time we ordered. Must visit
One of the best south Indian restaurants in pondicherry. Food is fresh, the ambience is authentic and service is excellent.
We had our breakfast and dinner here .
Mini idly , masala dosa , paalak poori we have ordered for breakfast and all were good . Their medu Vada doesn't have crisp , so we don't like it. Their filter coffee was good , however the juices were not . Kindly try taking juices outside as there are many juice cafes out serving good Juice.
The next day we ordered fried rice and chilli paneer . Surprisingly both were prepared nicely . Chilli paneer was a little spicy as they put a lot of black pepper, however we forgot to mention them to make it mildly spicy. The fried rice was nice and the portion was also good 👍 compared to the price . It was sufficient to share among 2 people .
Their lime soda was good , but butter milk was not.
Overall food is good and service is excellent. Beverages need little improvement.
I recently dined at Surguru, a delightful veg restaurant conveniently located near the market. The ambiance was a breath of fresh air, with ample greenery creating a serene atmosphere.
We sampled a variety of dishes, including the Surguru special thali, Mysore Masala Dosa, onion uttapam, and Mushroom Masala. The Mushroom Masala was a standout, bursting with flavor and a definite must-try.
However, the Veg Biryani was a bit of a letdown, lacking the robustness of flavors I had expected. On a positive note, the prices were reasonable, making it accessible for most diners.
Surguru seems to have a strong presence in Pondicherry with multiple outlets, making it a convenient choice for vegetarians looking for a diverse menu in a pleasant setting.
