Aura Cafe

I booked the Ashram tour and was very pleased. We went by bicycle and had fun. The guide was very skilled and open minded, we had coffee at a local stand. Actually I learned a lot about the Mother and her work done. I can recommend the tour from the bottom of my heart. Thank you guys

I remember during my first time in Pondicherry, walking through the Promenade, I stumbled across this store. The warmly lit interiors one can peek through its glass windows are inviting, so for someone who loves exploring local stores, I walked in. The warmth of the people inside the store surpassed my expectations. The staff of this store is kind and considerate, they will not push you into buying products but tell you a story of items curated and sourced from the local artisans of Pondicherry. How within each of us is a story waiting to be unravelled to the right listener, the products that you would pick up and explore, have their own origins and a journey, which you can ask from the staff and they will happily oblige. When you do any purchase in this store, you are certain that it has been ethically sourced. Without intentionally participating, I was experiencing conscientious shopping perhaps for the very first time in an Indian store. The store has everything one might need for themselves or want to present to others, it has souvenirs one can carry along as a promise to return to this city where time stands still. There are few experiences one has to undergo to understand their relevance. The ambience, the essence and the underlying values that Aura experience store represents are to this day unmatched for me. But coming to this store has certainly raised my expectations from other local stores I visit when I am travelling. If I have to recommend a particular category in the store, it will have to be the Home and Interiors, I love the locally sourced ceramic tableware and bed linen. Happy Shopping! :)

I went there in October.I bought few books here written by j.Krishnamurthi garu. My mother bought a bag made of wood. Staff were very respectful and answered our questions about their collection. They mentioned how we can inquire about products on Watsapp. Their collection is aesthetic I must say.

Helpful and very cooperative staff. The experience was nothing short of marvellous. Warm and very welcoming space. Bookstore downstairs is a must visit for 5 minutes of serene peace.

We tried the auro cafe and loved every bit of it. Had the sapota (chiku) ice cream that was seasonal, French fries and some other snacks. They also have a neat washroom on premise. The boutique offers a range of Auroville products from incense sticks to clothing.That we could people watch and enjoy the sea, on a pedestrian only road (From 4pm to 7Am everyday) made it all the more enjoyable! Stop by for the food and excellent service. Prices are bit on high side but worth it.
