This is a hotel with a lot of history. I often visited this hotel since my childhood with my parents.
If you are looking for meals with good fish curry, kappa and fish fry, this is one of the best spots in Trivandrum. They have tuna and prawns fry most of the day.
The hotel is crowded most of the time and you may need to wait to get seats there. Try to reach before 2.30 p.m or else some of the items may be finished.
They serve only "oonu" With kappa, fish curry and fish fry.Felt like homely food. We tried prawns fry and tuna fry, both are really good. Nice service. We payed 500 rs for 2 oonu, one prawns fry and tuna fry.
Lunch with tapioca is popular at the Mubarak hotel. Other than lunch, they don't have any other meals. Fish fries like Tuna, Prawns and other seasonal fishes are their main attraction. We have to wait patiently for our chance to get a seat there because midday crowd is heavy. The area is not nice and clean. The hand wash area is not clean and there is no bathroom facility. Vehicle access to this hotel impossible. We must walk across the curvy road to get there.
Only fish meals are available and for vegetarians they provide the same food but they don't give fish fry and the fish curry they give a fruit curry which is made by mango and pineapple and it is mouthwatering
The ambience is very good and you have to stand in a line but the line is very fast moving as soon as you sit they provide plantain leaf and with some vegetables and then the main course join

One of the famous lunch spots in Trivandrum, Mubarak Hotel is situated in the busy Chalai Market. It's a hotel with years of history and so very popular among the people in and around Trivandrum.
I have tried their Meal with Fish Fry. The meal was decent with all side dishes and the Kappa curry served along with it was good. Tried their prawns fry (they are known for their fish fry), and was delicious.
As this is one of the busy lunch spots in Trivandrum you will have to wait a little to get a seat but it's a worth visit/wait place, I would say.

Other sea foods ...Rice with kappa(tapioca) in plantain leaf ... Situated in the historic and busy Chalai street is the go-to place for meals with fish delicacies. Note that this place is open only for lunch. The best time to go will be at around 12:30 PM. Fish fry items are to die for! Very crowded. Got a seat after 15 minutes of waiting. Excellent sea food dishes . prawn fry and king fish fry were superb. Price resonable. No AC, not any ambience. No parking. But food compensates.
One of the best restaurant in trivandrum for the seafood lovers,we get only meals and seafood from here..we get prawn roast and fish fry,i highly recommend this place to try out the most tastiest authentic kerala meals especially try that with the prawn roast well cooked and it was so tasty and try choora fish fry also..
The famous Mubarak Hotel, located near Padmanabha Swami Temple is known for its amazing seafood items. The place is often crowded and one of the busiest places and their menu is limited to sea foods, the ambience is like a classic old Kerala hotel and the atmosphere is okay. The food, they serve it in banana leaves which will have curry and rice then they serve fish as an extra item, prawns fry is the star dish and it's worth every penny and other fishes are great too! Overall an experience which is worthwhile and I'm amazed on how they're still keeping up with years old recipes.
Once a restaurant get succeeded it will be overcrowded then.. Mubarak restaurant situated in chalai serving meals with Tuna, prawn fries is one of the popular restaurant in trivandrum because of their taste and consistency. Most of the time you have to stand in ques inorder to get a seat for dine in.. The infrastructure for the restaurant was the biggest problem Can't occupy every hungry belly at the same time. Though it is crowded so service was biggest challenge.. They neither expands seating capacity nor number of staffs. But once you get seat then they will provide you one of the best meals with fish fry.. Their tuna fry is my favorite as it's spicy and yummy..

Best seafood available in trivandrum in my opinion. Had seafood from vizhinjam restaurants but still I would rank mubarak for providing the tastiest fish fries in trivandrum.
