The ambience is very nice...The only issue is that it is a little cramped for space & the washroom(for Gents) is an issue as well!But people may wonder why i am still rating it as a 5 star!
The reason is simple: FOOD!I have tried the fish fingers,Dry chilly chicken, Smoked Pork(The star of the show) & Its Non veg Hakka Noodles(both chicken and pork).Each of these tasted really well.The waiters are very professional and know their job well.And if you are a foodie (which i bet you are as you are going through the reviews to pick a food joint!) this is a must try.The price is little on the higher side.But they dont compromise on the quality of food.
Hands down One of the best cafes' i have visited anywhere in India, in terms of food, service, ambience, music et all.. Had a great experince with friends. And since i am not from guwahati, but i would love to visit this place again whenever i am in the city. Music was subtle and good to the ears. The cherry-cheese-pineapple was the star of the dishes we ordered, the pork with bamboo shoot was amazing as well. Keep it up guys, cheers!
It's a nice place to hangout. Late night concerts are really nice. I was lucky to attend one of the shows. Food served was awesome. People are nice
Overall it's good but the items are too costly. One Corona which cost RS 200 in a wine shop there it cost Rs400 or 420 which is double the price. That's not good.

This is the only place in Guwahati which have never lost its sheen though the entire Guwahati has changed around it. It is an epitome of how a joint/cafe can camouflage without changing the basic structure/theme while the city undergoes thru the different stages of development.
Every Guwahatian like me feels nostalgic whenever he/she visits Cafe Hendrix because of the numerous memorable stories attached to it. Be it the school/college/tution bunks. (I guess you got the context)
Many of us like me must have broken their Alcohol Virginity here.
Their Music, Life Performance, Food (especially Pork), Beer are the inseparable string attached to Cafe Hendrix.

Having read rave reviews, visited the cafe during my recent visit to Guwahati. I am surely going here next time. Good food, good music, nice ambience, courteous staff. Loved the complementary sprout salad. We ordered fish fingers, which turned out to be yum. The place is worth every penny.
However, we had a bit difficulty finding the place, even while standing bang opposite Pantaloons. They can have a larger sign-board on the main street.
Three floors and each has ita own ambience. Although the most preferred is the top floor. Apart from good food the place has good music, projector tv show and all you want to have for a good meal. Lunch is preferred for meals, while night is crowded
I have been there twice and it was recommended by a colleague and a friend as well. I was not dissapointed being there. Enjoyed live music with beer. Only issue I have was that most of the beers given in the menu are not available and the price is in higher side. #cafehendrix

One of the oldest cafes in town. The best place to spend weekends on. I visited on a Sunday with my friends. The gig takes place on the top floor and they have a great lineup. The staff and everyone are friendly. Food is good. We ordered a dragon mushroom and a pork dry fry. For beverages we ordered Simba beers, one if 6 was 9 and an Italian smooch. It tasted decent.
Lunch on a working day. We were the only customers. Out of the 15 varieties of beer on the menu, only three were available. Fish & chips were brilliant. Chowmein was tasty though a bit oily. This would be a happening place in the evening with live music. Hendrix-ness of the place is evident though a variety of music was played. There is a 20% markup when gigs are playing and this has been advertised everywhere. Good place except that the entry is rather narrow and low roof may make some people claustrophobic. Hope they have a functional fire escape from both the floors.
Very good ambience.. if you have some good taste of English song you have to visit the place..
Food is also good. The American corn fry is outstanding...
Beer variety is limited. No pint available.. but is in the menu.
Price is reasonable. But it charges extra for live performance. Entry is free.
Overall good time. Good place. good for hangout with friends and family.
Great live music, not so great sitting arrangment which needs to be improved as the stage view is hindered by other guests. Even the waiters were very frequently coming between the guests and the stage view.
Guwahati was longing for such a place from very long time, where musicians can showcase their talent in front such crowd who give proper value to those musicians and crowd can enjoy the music along with food & booze. Food is good & not very overpriced.

Aftee lot of recommendations I went there as I haven't had been here before. It was quite an amazing place. The ambience was really nice. If you want to go with friends or girl/boy friend, it's the good place to hangout. 10 on 10 for me.
Awesome place to hangout with friends and loved ones. The best time to visit is Friday, Saturday and Sunday when you will find a live music performance. The vibe is awesome and the staff are well behaved.
Classy place to hangout. I probably visited two times. Ambiance, light, music and drinks were awesome. Best part was live music performance.
The light was mellow, the music good, the drinks smooth, the food really good. All complemented each other. The arrangers were gentle and helpful. A nice place. The Tequila Sunrise was just wow! Enjoyed it with wonderful thoughts on my mind. Won't forget the music, the madness, the thrill.
