Had been here in my childhood days with Mom and Dad. Infact, this was the first resturant in China Town i went to. The building has not changed a bit, just a new coat of paint.
The staff are polite but sure needs to learn how to keep a smiling face on the floor.
Food quality is excellent. What ordering, suggest you order half's or less as quantity is great. You can always go for second helpings.
The place is moderate but the food is great, would visit the place again.
This place is one of the few restaurants in town that serve authentic Chinese food. The price is at a higher side but the quality and quantity of food you get at that price justifies it. The ambience is great and the staffs are very friendly. You'll love it give it a try.
The Cantonese noodles is really amazing and beautiful ♥️♥️❤️❤️
We have a sudden plan to go and eat at China Town. We were hungry and was bit late for lunch. After getting good review of Ah leung from Petuk Panda group, we decided to go there but unfortunately it was closed. After hovering here and there we saw Kim Ling and we had heard it's name before for good food. You won't get that fancy decor but old vintage interior what they kept for years. We ordered Mixed Noodles, Mixed Rice and Chilli Garlic Chicken. The quantity is pretty good with good amount of chicken and prawns in mixed noodles and mixed rice. The taste was also great and I loved all the items. The noodles they serve is bit thick. Coming to the Chilli Garlic Chicken it was spicy and delicious. We were loving it with rice and noodles. We didn't count but there were good amount of chicken pieces. We were really satisfied after having our lunch here. Price is moderate enough.
Amazing food. Quality is good but quantity is good at that price :)
Happy fooding!
Wanted some healthy food and thus, went for a delivery of a Veg Delight (Gravy) from this restaurant - Kim Ling based somewhere in Tangra!
Dish was tasty, prepared to our preference of not having chilies – lots of boiled and sliced veggies – cabbage, cucumbers, capsicums, onions, carrots etc sautéed and served in a soupy gravy – tasted very nice – tickles your taste buds only when had piping hot! Alas, what was missing was some exotic veggies – mushrooms, maybe some cottage cheese cubes, a tofu or two ………… especially considering the high price tag! Nevertheless, the experience was still nice!
Overall, a very nice healthy meal!
We had tried several items from this restaurant and this restaurant serves amazing and delicious food delights. One of the best place to enjoy
You will get a wonderful surrounding. Enjoy tasty Chinese food.
Location- it's Located at 13, South Tangra Road, Tangra, Kolkata
Menu:-
• Chicken Hot and Soup Soup
• Chilli garlic chicken
• Kimling Special Chow
• Chilli Lemon Chicken
• Mixed Sichuan Rice Noodle
I loved all the dishes but the Rice noodle mostly.
It has a bar attached to the restaurant, but the bar is separated with a partition from the restaurant, so going with Family Should n't be a problem.
From the price point of view, it's a fair priced shop and i would recommend all to give it a visit.
Happy Fooding!
I have been visiting Kim Ling since I was a schoolboy so I hope you will pardon a slightly biased review.
The interiors have not changed much for the last 20 years which is not a big deal for me since all it needs to be is clean and comfortable, which those old chairs and tables manage just fine.
The staff is courteous, prompt and the old veterans know their old customer's preferences better than they themselves do.
Now about the food...
although I have perhaps tasted the whole menu over the years, I will limit myself to a few recommendations that bring back sweet memories and hunger pangs.
Prawn Pakodas - Not chicken, not anything else but prawn pakodas. Now close your eyes and trust me.
Note* On every table you will find a small bowl with a "homemade" chili paste. It has an abundance of chilies, garlic, coriander all generously splashed with lime. Now this sauce/ paste is cruelly delicious. It will burn your mouth, tongue and throat after which you will reach for some more of this punishment. And yes I'm addicted to this chili paste. Prawn pakodas and this chili paste are great with beer, whisky etc.
Gravy Noodles - If its your first time here then gravy noodles are mandatory. Take a preferred side dish if you want but this dish stands alone with head held high in pride. The noodles they make in-house (like the chili paste) and the texture, feel and taste of these noodles in your mouth are unique.
Most other dishes are great but I just wanted to share the above with you. I hope you will excuse me for not having photos.
Bon Appetit
THE BEST CHINESE I HAVE EVER TASTED SO FAR the place is very old and you can feel it the Chair and tables have not been replaced and are over 30 years old the staff are very good we had hot and sour chicken (half) which had around 14 small pieces of chicken and chilly garlic rice
Authentic😍
Fried Chicken Wonton
Chilli Garlic Pepper Chicken
Mixed Rice Noodles
Mixed Hakka Noodles
Chilli Chicken
The best place to eat Chinese cuisine. Updating the review as er recently visited the place. We tried out spring fish, prawn pakora, mixed haka noodles, mixed fried rice, lemon chicken. We were 3 adults and 1 kid. Though we ordered half portion of starters, we went with full place of lemon chicken. Rice and noodles are available in full portion only. The quantity of food was on the higher side and we literally struggled to finish the dishes. However, they have the tastiest dishes and I love how they maintain consistency in the preparation. One word of caution - the road in front of the restaurant is fully dug up, so you cannot drive till the place. There's an alternate narrow route from the back side or the car needs to be parked elsewhere. The road is supposed to be repaired before Puja as per the restaurant staff.
All good. Needs some improvements in dishes. The softness of the chicken and the gravy items needs some improvements. Fish pepper salt is awesome.

When you focus solely on the food without pretence, this could be your choice. Potion sizes are big, dishes are tasty and atmosphere is friendly. One of the old favourites at Tangra.
A very good Chinese restaurant located on Tangra road, China town.
For the lunch I had fish crisp fry, chicken garlic and kiling chowmein with thai garlic chicken. Very good taste. Enjoyed the meal.
The restaurant don't serve pork and serves halal food.
The green sauce / chutney was very tasty.
Good Place. Good food. The Chilli Garlic Pepper Fish & Chilli Garlic Prawn was superb. Well, I also tried Mushroom, Drums of Heaven, Mixed Cantonese Chowmein, Mixed Rice, Chilli Chicken, Thai Soup etc. Food quality could be better. Service has serious room for improvement. Alas, a evening well spent at Kim Ling.

Mixed fried rice, Mixed rice noodles , Leamon chicken, Black bean souce chicken .
Items are good, staff service avarage .
overall good for group dine-in , recommend 👍
This happens to be the oldest Chinese Restaurant in the China Town area of Kolkata in Tangra. The earlier name was Blue Diamond Restaurant which changed name after Mrs. Lee became it’s sole proprietor in the early nineties.
It’s no doubt the joint which serves the tastiest Chinese Food of the famous China Town style recipe. The Lung Fung soup simply gives out of the world experience with thick layer of egg white floating on top giving rise to a creamy look.
All the dishes are super tasty - but special mention of Golden Fried Prawn needs to be mentioned.
