Shinkows

We visited Shinkows in the late afternoon but the place was so crowded that we had a wait of around 20 minutes just to get in. There was a host at the door to the restaurant who seemed to be ignoring non-Tamil speakers. We were finally let in and offered a table in the Zodiac room. The decor was quaint with art involving the Chinese zodiac theme and lanterns. They have a unique system here where the customers are provided with a piece of paper and a pen and can write down the codes for the required dishes which have been provided in the menu. The waiters here can rattle off all the dish names just by looking at the code. In spite of being crowded, our food arrived in under 10 minutes. We ordered egg fried rice, veg noodles, pork with broccoli, fried chicken and sweet and sour fish. The friend rice and noodles were good, nothing out-of-the-world. What we absolutely loved was the pork with its thick clear gravy and soft flesh, and the sweet and sour fish with well cooked soft fish in a delectable sweet and sour sauce. We also loved the fried chicken, especially since it wasn't greasy and has no oil oozing into our mouths when bitten. Perfectly paired with the accompanying sauces. The prices are quite high for the ambience and setting, with a plate of regular veg noodles costing Rs 400+.

This is an old Chinese restaurant and offers decent food. It definitely deserves a visit if you are a Chinese food lover. While you may not find the food outstanding, the overall ambience and mood of the restaurant is very appealing

Best place for Chinese items. Many varieties of Chinese food. Tasty and delicious. Good atmosphere. They open in the Evening (7pm). Nice ambience. Lot of seats too.Their pork items are super. Soup items are not tasy(Personal opinion).

Great Chinese authenticated food. Do not expect the Indian version of Chinese food with lot of sauce. It's located in the city center. Usually a quiet place. The service staffs are very gentle and friendly. Rate is decent. The only issues is that we had hard time to find a parking space.

I had visited this place and I would say it's pretty great you have to read its history. This is an authentic Chinese place owned by a Chinese couple who are born in India , when you have you might find it bland that is lack of Indian spices but that's what a Chinese food is right ? I would recommend you to try the food and i bey you would enjoy it.
